  "It seems he has some reason to know you, Ketsuki. And he came from the direction we're heading to.."
J-11, warily look at this old guy.

[GiglameshDespair]

"He recognises my style, at least. I wonder if he is..."
She raised her voice.
"I am Ketsuki. The man who taught me was Jonaki Konian, swordmaster."

Enemy Phase

: I see... So you're that girl. You don't seem to recognize me, so I must assume he did not tell you about me.

Zankuro slowly took a step forward.

: I am Zankuro, and this is my sword, the Wo Dao. Stained red from the blood of a thousand enemies, it is a legendary sword... and it hungers.

He slowly unsheathed his sword, red as he said.

: A couple of decades ago, I visited a village and challenged the townspeople for a worthy opponent like I did many times before. If they failed to produce one, I would slaughter the village... like I did many times before. None of the swordsmen in that village could even come close to touching me, and so I began culling the weak.

Zankuro pointed Wo Dao at Ketsuki.

: But then, someone appeared and challenged me. Jonaki Konian, that man managed to duel me to a standstill. But instead of finishing the duel, he took the only child that still lived and ran. I roamed the land, wanting to finish that duel... But when I found his home, it was abandoned. Now, if I can't end that man, I'll end that child that he took as apprentice!

Zankuro assumed a fighting stance.

: Come, then. Or will you turn around and flee like he did?

Zankuro moves to K8 and uses Leaf on the Wind.

Albert was speechless for a moment. Slowly he turns to ketsuki, giving her a look.
  "Ketsuki, if you want to end this beast, I'll give you as much support as I can."
K10, Quick Ketsuki.

[GiglameshDespair]

"I see."
"My master never did tell me what happened to my family, or how I ended up in his care. I had long assumed they had been murdered by bandits or monsters, and had made my peace with never knowing for sure."
"But to see their killer before me..."
"I am going to obliterate you, Zankuro."

J9, do as stated

[Solymr]

: I will show you the power of the spirit sword!

Zankuro raised his blade to meet Ketsuki's, but Galeforce gleamed.

"I'll show you what a TRUE spirit sword feels like!"

Galeforce broke through the Wo Dao and Zankuro's body, a fountain of blood surging from the old swordmaster as he falls dead. Now nothing remained in the pair's way.

Ketsuki attacks!
Hit: 175+10+5-40-84=66. Roll: 17. Hit!
Crit: 54+10+15-24=55. Roll: 47. Critical!
Ignis: 82.
Zankuro takes 43+3-9=37*3=111 damage!

[Ochita]

Albert was silent for a moment, as Galeforce gleamed and sliced through the Old man. He went to Ketsuki's side, tentatively placing a hand on her shoulder.
  "Ketsuki, Galeforce. Are the two of you okay?"

[GiglameshDespair]

Ketsuki placed her own hand over Albert's.
"..."
"I do not recall my birth family. I do hope, however, they rest a little easier now." She smiled softly over her shoulder. "I will be alright."

She was silent another moment, before she lifted up Galeforce.
"Have you had a good rest, Galeforce? I was wondering if you'd ever wake."

[Solymr]

"I'm afraid since slaying that hellspawn my power isn't the same. It is not less, but not more. With time I might fade again."

[Ochita]

  "I'm certain that they, and your master rest easier now." Albert responded, giving her shoulder a comforting squeeze.
  "Thats.. Too bad to hear, Galeforce. I had just gotten used to having you around."

[GiglameshDespair]

"Ah, that is a shame. Still, there is the chance you may not. Focus on conserving your strength. Albert, do you believe any of your magic could help? "

[Ochita]

  "I'm honestly not sure, Galeforce is... Entirely different compared to the intended target of a heal staff.. Although, I know that there are staves which repair weaponry. It's a long shot but, its something I could look into."

[GiglameshDespair]

"Well, once we have setup the sword-school, we will have time to experiment with such things. Come, it is not far. "

[Ochita]

  "You're right. Lets continue on then, to our home."

[Solymr]

Albert and Ketsuki worked on her master's old home until they could call it their own. Slowly the school became more and more populated, while the Spirit Sword rested until maybe a worthy apprentice in a time of need would awaken its power again.

~~~~Epilogue D: The New Ixion~~~~

It has been 8 months since the fall of the King of Ixion. Laura and her family had managed to take hold of a sizable territory of the former country, keeping their people safe. But other warlords looked at the prosperous Silfursverd holdings and became greedy. Lord Wulfgar, one of the most powerful to rise, went to war against them.

Inside the small outpost that covered the mountain pass near the border between Wulfgar and Silfursverd territory, Laura and both Jacobs were waiting.

: That damn Wulfgar... Sending an army through this pass while most of our forces are away, forcing us to hold it... How did he know?

: It definitely wasn't a coincidence. Someone must be informing him of our movements.

: Well he's gonna be in for a surprise because we are going to hold it! Are you ready?
