The sword still held the same power, but the spirit no longer felt responsive.

  "Ketsuki, I'm certain he's been proud of you for a long time." Albert's smile faded as galeforce didn't answer, turning to a grim line as Ketsuki spoke up. When nothing emitted from the blade, Albert put his hand on her shoulder.
  "I- I'm sorry Ketsuki."

Kyle looked around at the people conversing with their partners. With a frown he got up to stand at the entrance.
"... _{Shit, I'm gonna be bored with none of these guys around.}"

Senija was still more than a little caught up in the glee of having finally finished their long campaign, and she manifested this by, even though she had just brought Harold into a standing position, sweeping him up into a tight enough hug to lift his feet off of the ground. She gave him an emphatic kiss on the lips, and only when she had pulled back did she set the man down.
:"We're the best!"

Lamden, silent for the longest time, simply took a deep breath. He took a good few moments to stare at the gate, his face inscrutable, before kneeling next to the unresponsive prophet.
: "...Mason? Are you there?"

Her smile faded somewhat.
"Then it seems our victory here was not completely without loss. Rest well, Galeforce. You earned it, certainly."

[Ochita]

  "He... Probably went doing what he loved. Slicing apart horrors from beyond our world."

[Solymr]

Harold was caught completely by surprise, but didn't put up any resistance. By the time Senija put him down, he was completely flushed.

: Heh, woo... That's all the breathless adventurer could utter.
Mason returned an empty stare at Lamden, and looked back down at his own hands.

: My magic... It's gone. It took it.

"Yes... I cannot imagine a better death for a sword-spirit than during the vanquishing of a great foe. Perhaps the greatest foe."
She smiled again.
"And who knows? The power within the sword remains. Perhaps, one day, it will return. Now, however, is the time for triumph."

Lamden looked at Mason for a moment, then turned aside to look at everyone else.
: "...You never did explain how you got those powers in the first place, did you?"

: When I... first got the visions, I heard a voice explaining what would happen, and compelling me to follow some commandments to give me something to be able to do something about it... When they stopped, I found myself being capable of using this light magic. It's why I never used a lockpick again...

Mason took a deep breath and dropped his hands on his lap.

: All this time I was being... manipulated to do whatever that thing wanted. But I didn't follow everything to the letter. Back in Strohnban, when I took the keys, I felt this power diminishing, and I thought it was a punishment. If I hadn't done that... If I hadn't deviated from the way, where would we be now? In that prison, waiting for our deaths?

Lamden nodded, contemplating for a brief moment.
: "...Perhaps, if you could entertain a theory a moment."
: "I... do not think that it was Chaos that established those powers in the first place. Perhaps the creature had figured out over time the effects that the powers had over your actions, and came to rely on them to manipulate them. If Chaos were truly in control of these visions in the first place, why would it lead us all to this outcome?"
: "Perhaps another entity needed someone, nay, needed Mason specifically, to understand the breadth of the threat that lied ahead. And now that the threat lay silent and defeated, the world has no need of the prophet any longer." The preist's mouth slanted, but he continued on, "I would take this not as a moment of weakness, but a sign of a job well done. At least, that's what this feeble guard believes."

[Solymr]

: ... Maybe you're right. Maybe my job's done. I need to think about it though. Thank you, Lamden.

Their conversation finished, another person appeared.

: Lamden? Are you ready to return?

Tomik had been blasted off of Modra in all the mess at the end, his helm fallen near him. Standing up as Lilly helped him up, he smiled.

"Indeed. Time to be at peace, finally. And for you to meet my family! My mother might scold me for marrying you without her there, but I'm sure she'll get over it eventually."

"...Sorry about that. If you want we can renew our vows for our first anniversary, so your parents can be there. And our little one."
