Lilly patted Tomik's thigh affectionately as he sat astride Modra.

Harlan answered Catherine's question.

: "Better hope they're willing to talk, because this isn't exactly an ideal place to hold out. I've seen soup kitchen lines shorter than the one we're trying to hold."

[Solymr]

: After the show we've been putting I really doubt it.

I see I arrive not a moment too soon!

Heads turned again as there was another unexpected arrival. Jacob and some other knights joined the group as well.

: Sir Silfursverd! Have you come to talk down the defenders again?

: Impossible. We're facing the King's Praetorian Guard, the best trained soldiers in Ixion. And after what happened at the beach, I believe they might have had the same special treatment. No, diplomacy won't be an option.

[Sirus]

: "Figures."

[Solymr]

: So, fighting it is, then.

: Yes. And it won't be easy. They're better equipped, better prepared, and they outnumber us more than 2 to 1. But- what is that noise?

A background hum was rising in volume until it became a familiar noise to the group. Over their heads, Nikolai's airship made an appearance.

: What the hell is that?!

: It's Nikolai! What's he saying?

: _{Watch out down there!}

The airship dropped a round object that fell with a thud on open field near them. The mysterious thing beeped and blinked a couple times until there was a big flash of light.

: _{I managed to make teleportation work! It needs a big beacon to be placed at destination but it's great!}

Now there was a group of mages next to the round object, and in front of them...

: Hello. I believe this war ends today.

[SeriousConcentrate]

"Huh. Looks like the band's together."

[Sirus]

: "Huh. The universe keeps surprising me."

[Swordstar]

"If they won't surrender, then we take them out. Nothing for it but working together and taking them on. We do what we need to do and end this war today."

[Solymr]

As the other two leaders were still in shock, Phineas decided to introduce himself.

: I come in representation of Kizamo, I'm Phineas. Now we should get to business.

: Of course it's the mages. What's the plan now?

: We're still outnumbered yet, but I think we can make this work if we hold it here.

While they were quickly discussing, Mason piped up.

: That's great, that all of you are here but... I have a bad feeling that we're running out of time.

: Well, I did say we were ending this today, didn't I?

: Yeah but, maybe the King is also planning on ending this today, and not in a good way. Just one of those prophet gut feelings.

: ... Alright. I know what we can do. Nikolai! It's time for that!

: _{Okay! Give me a second and take cover!}

: We should take a few steps back.

Everyone did as Phineas, while he raised some sort of shield. A few seconds later they could see Nikolai peeking over the airship railing, with a tome in his hand and reciting some incantations. Then, a patch of sky above them turned red and meteors started raining down on the field. Phineas' shield managed to deflect the ones trying to fall on their heads, while the Ixionians in front of them scattered for cover, trying to avoid the flaming chunks...

Leaving an open path for the castle.

: Bloody magic! Jacob barely prevented his horse from panicking.

: That worked a bit too well! Go through the gate now!

[Swordstar]

"... Well then. Move out everyone!"

Grabbing Lilly up into Modra's saddle, Tomik took off, flying low and fast towards the castle.

[Twinwolf]

”...Can I borrow that tome? Please?” Catherine asks. Upon inevitable denial, she heads forward - she’s barely even paying attention it seems, rapidly writing in her notebook observations about all the magic just displayed and questions to ask later.

[Sirus]

Harlan grabbed the mage's hand and began half-dragging her along at a run.

: "Study later. Attack now."

[Ochita]

Albert stood aghast at the magics performed, before following the others, running as fast as he could.

[Solymr]

Bells started tolling loud enough to be heard in all the city. The group ran towards the gate and inside the castle, but Jacob, Micheal, Phineas and their soldiers stayed behind.

: Go! They're regrouping fast, we'll cover you from behind and stop any reinforcements!

The party was now alone as they left the outdoors fight behind. The bells warned the castle fighters that the fight was about to move inside.

: Let's go. We need to find the King.
