At Albert's mention of how the party had been going through opponents, Ketsuki smiled.
"I wonder if the foe will ever realise there is no stopping us. I wonder what the chances were... a group this powerful, meeting by happenstance."

[Powder Miner]

Whatever Tomik whispered in her ear, it did bring her bravado to a sudden crashing halt, Senija now sputtering and blushing.
:"H-hey, that one wasn't fair! We were little and I didn't even know what a town council meeting was, let alone that I was interrupting one!

[Swordstar]

Tomik smirked, quiet proud of the reaction he'd gotten.

"It's still only fair I think. You know his most embarrassing story, he should get to know yours!"

[Powder Miner]

:"Nuh uh! Mine is worse, on, like-- a scale level! I didn't live that down for months! And I think I wouldn't have at all if I hadn't pushed a couple of people over for being mean!"

[Swordstar]

"Your usual way of handling problems after all. It was shockingly effective. I'm still not entirely sure why some of those guys didn't fight back... Still, I guess I can keep your secrets for now. After all, things are still new with you two. Wouldn't want to risk making things awkward too soon."

[Ochita]

  "Considering how a fair number of us were at Strohnban, where they were gathering strong people, I guess they were pretty high, considering... Guess we've got Ixion to 'thank' for that. Still, meeting you.. Now that was purely blessed luck."

[Solymr]

Time passed flying as they enjoyed their day off, and now it was time to head to the capital, Ixionia, to end the war and the threat to the world.

~~~~Chapter 10: The King's Keep~~~~

After three days of travel, during which the party passed the aftermath of various battles, they finally reached their destination. The great walls of Ixionia were visible even before the sounds of battle reached the group's ears.

Ixionia was finally within reach, and as the group advanced, they could see the vanguard had already breached the walls and the fight had moved to the streets within. Harold poked Harlan.

: I didn't think I'd come back, and definitely not in this situation. Do you think our parents will be alright?

[Ochita]

Albert took a deep breath, steadying himself for the combat ahead. What else could he do? Turning to look at Ketsuki, he nodded to himself, turning back to look at where he was going, looking at those great walls..
  "Never thought I'd see the capital like this." Albert stated.

[GiglameshDespair]

"A poor first impression, perhaps."
She brushed a hand across the hilt of Galeforce.
"Well, no sense in delaying. Let us move forward."

[Ochita]

  "More hoping that I can look at the capital in a better state, once all of this is done. Yeah, lets."

[SeriousConcentrate]

Lilly was walking in the vanguard of the group. It probably was not the most appropriate place for her given she was hardly the person on the team best at taking hits, but that's where she found herself.

"I guess this is it. Make or break time, yeah?"

[Solymr]

: We can't afford to waste time. Let's go.

The group moved as quickly as they could to the city. Inside the walls, the bodies of both attackers and defenders littered the streets as the fights continued, swords clashing, bolts of fire and light flying around. It was chaos, and everyone seemed too busy to notice the new arrivals.

: Quick! To the castle!

The castle was visible from anywhere, and they ran towards it past the chaos that flooded the streets. By the time they reached the gate they had already avoided most of the battle, but then the gate opened and a full unit of Ixionian soldiers came out in front of them, ready to beat back the assault.

: So... what do we do now?

Harlan let out a soft whistle at the sight of so many soldiers.

: "No idea. Even with our legendary luck, charging straight into them would probably be suicide. We need to try something tricky."

: ... Do you have any ideas? The only thing I'm coming up with is to turn around and deal with it later, but-

I hope you weren't planning on facing all of them by yourselves.

Harold turned around to see Micheal and some of his men had joined them.

: I'm glad you made it in time for this, but I have to be honest... I don't think we can get past them, but if we don't hold them they will crush the rest. We need time.

"So, we've just got to hold out then." Catherine said, taking out one of her tomes. "You don't suppose these ones can be talked down, do you?"
