"Exactly. I ma not know a lot about being a parent, but I know that I don't want my kids to have to be worried about war and everything that we've gone through. Maybe if we fight hard enough, we can prevent that..."

[SeriousConcentrate]

"We'll have to work our butts off."

"Anything for this lil' guy though."

Lilly placed her hand on her stomach.

"I think he's going to be a 'him', anyway."

[Swordstar]

"Ha, well I suppose I'll trust my wife's intuition. You've never led me wrong before after all."

[SeriousConcentrate]

"I'll try to keep it that way."

Lilly would have stuck her tongue out at Tomik, but he was behind her on the wyvern.

"Mmm. It's nice and peaceful up here, and the wind feels good."

She seemed content to just settle in against him.

[Swordstar]

The two of them flew for a long time, long enough that Tomik lost track of just how long it had been. When they finally landed, it was in a small clearing in a grove of trees outside the town. Sliding down off Modra, instead of helping her off, he held up a hand.

"Stay up there for a second, alright? I told you I had a surprise. Well, here it is. I know you said you didn't need anything, just being married was enough but I promised I would do this right. So I got some help and..."

He reached into his pocket and pulled out the ring box. Opening it to reveal the two rings, one a brilliant blue, the other a deep fire red. Holding it out to her, he smiled.

"One for each of us, a perfectly matched pair. Just like you and me."

[SeriousConcentrate]

"Oh, those are pretty!"

Lillian took the box so she could look at them closer.

"I didn't think you'd have an opportunity to get rings until after all this. I expected everything would be closed with the war so close."

After a few moments of looking them over, Lilly put on the blue ring and passed the box back down.

"There. Blue to represent you."

[Sirus]

Harlan thought long and hard, but in the end he couldn't come up with a single idea. Breakfast had been just a short time ago and almost everything in town was boarded up. It was a miracle that the jeweler had still been in business. Hell, he would have stolen Tomik's wyvern to go joy-riding if the other man hadn't been using it.

: "Sorry Catherine, I don't know what I was thinking. A freshly-invaded village is a piss-poor spot for a first date. I guess we could go get drunk or something..."

[Twinwolf]

"...Admittedly, it probably would have been better to wait until after this all ended. It could be worse though. My mother told me about how one of the men she dated arrived on fire. And I do mean that literally." Catherine responded, trying to break the ice a bit with something humorous.

[Sirus]

: "Okay, you can't just say something like that and then NOT go into detail. This is a story I have to hear."

[Twinwolf]

"Sure. Let's find somewhere to sit down first, though." Catherine said, heading back towards a drinking place they'd passed. "Do you mind here?" she asked, gesturing. Nothing too fancy, but looks quality enough they're not going to get robbed when they're drunk... well, they wouldn't get robbed anyway, but they wouldn't have to kill someone for trying.

[Sirus]

: "Nah, I don't mind. I even borrowed a few coins out of Harold's pocket just in case. He should still have plenty for clothes shopping." Harlan gestured for the barkeeper (or anyone, really, he wasn't picky) to bring the two of them something to drink.

[Solymr]

Harold found his way back to the inn, where he saw Senija pondering something. He waved and went to talk to her.

: Good morning, Senija. Thinking about something?

[Swordstar]

Reaching out and taking the box back, he slipped the red ring onto his left hand and smiled.

"A perfect fit and a perfect match for you. And I got lucky. I talked with Harold and Harlan about going shopping today, but they ended up just handling it all for me. They must have found an open shop and they found a perfect set."

[SeriousConcentrate]

"I'm not surprised Harlan would have a good eye for jewelry. He... did pay for it, right?"

[Swordstar]

"You know? I'm 95% sure they did, but I did not ask. That was perhaps a mistake.... Harlan knew I wanted to borrow money for it though?"
