"Glad to be a part. I don't know where we're going to end up after the war, but you'll always be welcome to visit us I'm sure."

: And you'll be welcome to our home as well, more so if you come to visit her so-

Micheal froze up for a second thinking.

: She did tell you about her son, did she?

[Swordstar]

"Well if she hadn't, this certainly would have been an awkward way to find out..."

I wonder if she told him she's pregnant...

[Solymr]

: Awkward, but necessary. After all, this is something that needs to be known. Getting married and having children are important changes in your life. You're ready for those changes, right?

[Swordstar]

"I'm going to do my best. I know it's a lot of change at once, but I know it's harder on her so I have to be able to handle it for her sake. Even if I am nervous at the thought of being a father, I'll make sure that I'm the best one I can be."

[Solymr]

: Oh, you'll make a fine stepfather for William. You're lucky you got a few years of work cut out for you.

[Swordstar]

"Few years? And to be honest, from what I understood... I didn't think that Lilly would try and get William back. Or see him much at all. If she wants to, I'd love to be a stepfather for him, but..."

[Solymr]

: Well, it's true he's General Argent's son, but I don't think his heart is cold enough to deny the mother some involvement... ... What did you mean by "being a father" then?

[Swordstar]

... Apparently she didn't tell him. "Well, I... uhm... She's... sort of pregnant? Did... did she not tell you?"

[Solymr]

Micheal glared at Tomik for a few seconds before taking a deep breath.

: ... I'll be back with you in a second.

Then he hurriedly went back to Lillian.

: Did you, ahem, forget to tell me something?

[SeriousConcentrate]

"Heh heh... Umm..."

Lilly squirmed uncomfortably under her older brother's withering stare.

"Uh... Well, I mean, I guess that's my fault in all senses... I just didn't want you to freak out about it?"

[Solymr]

Micheal sighed and massaged his forehead.

: I wish I had known this sooner so I wouldn't have sent my pregnant sister to one of the most dangerous battles in this war, but... now it's done, we're past that, and even if I knew beforehand I doubt you would have wanted to stay anyways... You just need to be very careful now, you have to take care for three people.

[SeriousConcentrate]

"I mean, I wasn't sure about it until a few days ago, though I suspected... but we came all this way, and I'm pretty good at dodging by now."

"Although... three? Do you think I'm carrying twins or something?"

She nervously put a hand on her abdomen. Having a lot of children sounded nice, like her own siblings, but that was something she wanted to work up to. Like her parents apparently had, considering her older brother was about fifteen years older, though she thought maybe she could adjust to the idea of caring for multiple kids after... three or four years. Two right at the start would certainly be a challenge.

"Oh! And I thought I heard you say William's name while you were talking to Tomik. What was that about?"

[Solymr]

: Just a slight miscommunication. When he mentioned being a father I assumed he meant William but that was quickly cleared up. And I said three because if anything happens to you I'll hang him out to dry.

[SeriousConcentrate]

"Oh, OK. Hey, listen... If anything happens to General Argent and his family, could you... take in William?"

"He knows you and Nell, and you said he's friends with Kennedy. I think... he would do better with a family he knows, if it came to it. I hope it doesn't, though, because I hate asking it of you."

"And Tomik's a good guy, really. If anything did happen to me, I want you to at least make sure he makes it out, all right? It's not going to, I swear it, but... just say yes, OK? It'll put my mind at ease."
