"Personal revenge mostly. I figured since they're more actively fighting Ixion then it's more likely I'd be able to find my bastard stepfather and kill him among other things. And, well, they're my friends, it'd be a dick move to leave friends."

[Sirus]

: "Well, sure. You two were busy talking magical shop and I don't have much to contribute to something like that, so I decided to hit the stores before they all closed."

[Solymr]

: I'm not really a scholar... but I know more than a couple of things about magic by now. I also have a few stories about the artifacts and ruins of history of Kizamo and... can I also ask you about some things I wasn't able to fill in by myself?

Harold whispered to Harlan while Catherine was thinking of an answer.

: *Did you buy that lance?*
: Oh. What did he do for you to want to look for him?

[Sirus]

: *Of course I did. We're gonna need everyone at full strength and Senija could probably kill half of Ixion by herself with that thing.*

[Solymr]

: *Good. Can you... erm... can you let me give it to her?*

Harold's face was slightly red by this point.

Harlan hands the lance over, shrugging.

"If you want to ask me, feel free."

"Well, first he seduced my mom, then he left us with all his gambling debts which left us in the poorhouse and ended with my mum dying half-mad telling me very specifically to find him and murder him... I think I was about five at the time? My memory ain't great. Anyways, I was left an urchin for about 13 years before a priest took me in to keep the temple clean... eventually I heard a penitent sailor talking about his captain, a wantonly cruel man named Elsid Barret. As it turns out, it was my dear old dad he was talking about so the next day I went to sea on board a pirate vessel and... yeah, that's my life up until I started working with the group. It sucked massively, and it can all be traced back to him. Which is part of why I never really gave up on the idea."

Harold left Harlan and Catherine with the Killer Lance in tow. Soon after he went to Senija with his hands behind his back.

: Hey, Senija! We got a gift for you.

Both ends of the lance were showing behind Harold.
: Damn, that's rough. No wonder you look older than you are. That guy Barret, is he a pirate or what?

"Privateer technically. Which is a fancy word for a pirate that doesn't get shot on sight by a specific nation's navy."

Realizing that equipment would be more valuable than gold going forward, Harlan buys 2 vulneraries for emergencies and stuffs them into the Bag of Holding.

: Oh, let me guess, he works for Ixion now. You know... this officer that caught me the first time was also a criminal at first. He was my friend too, we used to play chess when we weren't doing whatever we could to survive. One day I lost sight of him, apparently he got caught and next thing I know he's on my case like we never even met.

: Nope. It hurt a bit, but I figured he just saw it as his way out of the gutter. Then while I was searching for the Waygate, I found out Ixion recruits criminals and does some kind of brainwashing with them... It hurt a bit, but compared to what happened to you?
