"Someone in the church is a traitor. Ixion forces teleported in to assassinate Archbishop Argent; luckily we were still here. And I'm not hurt. Just shaken, a bit."

Lamden remained silent for a good minute before responding.
: "...Apologies. One does not necessarily hear their death knell and come back the same person." He stared off to the side, "My strength has not left me, however. I am fully committed in putting an end to this blasted conflict, at any cost."

[Solymr]

: That explains the emergency meeting and the bodies. Thank Bor you were here to stop them. We'll talk after the meeting, alright?

Micheal went with the other generals.
: It's me who should apologize. Since that time when I had to leave you at Ixion's mercy, you have been having nothing but misfortunes. All your suffering... it's been because of me. And I don't know how to make it up to you, even after you've saved my life twice.

"OK. Be careful, all right? We don't know who let Ixion in just yet, so..."

Lilly let Micheal go without saying any more; she supposed she'd already said enough.

Lamden glanced back at Lady Anne.
: "Milady. None of the burden falls upon you. I chose my duty and performed it as I am obligated to." He recited in somber, but serious tone, "All that I can ask in return is true judgement as befits Lord Luso when my hour arrives."

: I can't bear to see you like this. I know you weren't the most talkative of men, but the Lamden I knew wasn't... I don't know how to describe it, but it's not good. If there is something troubling you, you can count on me and I'll try to help.

Catherine heads over to where Harlan was.

"I believe I heard mention of a large amount of gold? I don't know when we'll next have the chance to get supplies. We should use it."

Lamden briefly sighed to himself, turning around back to his horse.
: "...Life is a fleeting thing, I've come to realize as of late. A sword lies strung above every man, woman and child's heads, just waiting to drop at the slightest disturbance. A mortal's final judgement lies just beneath eased laurels, waiting along the closest path home."
The cavalier shook his head, turning back to Lady Anne.
: "I'm sorry for worrying you. I simply wish to see justice done, before the chance slips me by. I cannot afford my mind reprieve for anything else."

[Sirus]

Catherine heads over to where Harlan was.

"I believe I heard mention of a large amount of gold? I don't know when we'll next have the chance to get supplies. We should use it."

Harlan chuckled.

"Agreed. In fact, though I haven't had a chance to count it all, I'd guess this one bag has...oh, eight thousand in it. Give or take. That ought to be worth plenty of supplies."

[Solymr]

: I admit the situation doesn't allow for much, but you need to rest. Lord Luso's killer was just brought to justice, even if it wasn't by our own hand. You can't keep going without stop forever, Lamden... I know death is inevitable, but please... there's no rush to get there. I'm not a sheltered kid anymore, I will protect you like you've protected me. Let's work together until this ends.

[Twinwolf]

Catherine nodded.

"Right. If you don't mind, could you come with me to do so? I don't think I can carry the bag that easily, and now doesn't seem to be the best time to be mugged in an alley." she says this as if ignorant of the fact she could literally kill most muggers by thinking at them too hard.

Harlan actually broke out laughing at the mugging issue, but didn't object.

: I'll go with you too if you don't mind.

The capital of Alberal was large though, there were a lot of places to see and shops to ransack browse, so the shoppers would have to pick where they were going.

"That's fine, Harold." Catherine says, as they head out. "I thinkwe ought to check what's available before making a purchase. I would like another tome. I have two, but one of them is showing it's use and I'd like a better one anyway."

[Sirus]

: "The way you've been burning through those things, I'm not all surprised. Let's hit up the local bookstore - I'm sure a fancy city like this will have a couple of them."
