"Well... it's a principal Ketsuki taught me about during some of our downtime. Y'know, taking your opponent's strength and using it against them if you're not strong yourself, and the thought occurred to me that my guitar reacts to me being hurt by blasting whoever hurt me harder than they hit me, so... And hey, it worked well the first time I tried it. Why not go for a second try? I'm just lucky he didn't learn from experience."

She turned to Tomik.

"Maybe we can just ride back out on the airship? And yeah, I agree. Let's not let anyone know about the Heart just yet. Until we know what we're going to do with it, keep it under wraps. We don't need anyone else trying to get their hands on it."

[Sirus]

: "Very slick thinking. You got lucky, but still..."

[SeriousConcentrate]

"Oh, I know. Especially considering that it doesn't always work. I could've ended up flattened and then we would have been in a worse spot."

"Guess I just live a semi-charmed kind of life, y'know?"

[Sirus]

: "Oh, I'm sure we'd have managed with a flattened bard somehow." The thief chuckled, coughed a few times, then continued. "Still and all, quick thinking and a charmed life is basically the perfect combination for being a skilled rogue. If you ever decide to hang up your guitar and earn a dishonest living, I can give you the names of some people who specialize in that sort of thing."

[SeriousConcentrate]

"I appreciate the offer, but I think the person I need help from is Laura. I'm planning on settling down - eventually - and she seems to know a lot about being a homemaker."

[Sirus]

: "Probably the smarter course in life, all things considered."

[SeriousConcentrate]

"Oh, you'll be fine. You could probably find a good spot to retire and start making an honest living around here if you wanted. You're good with a knife and there's always someone who wants a bodyguard; we stop this war and we'll all be heroes. You'll have nobles begging you to work for them. Easy work for good pay from what I hear."

"Well, until that disease of yours catches up to ya."

: "Well, thanks for that particular ray of sunshine."

"Hey, at least that means you're probably gonna die some place nice and soft if you want to. Better than most of the chumps we've been fighting."

Albert looked around, wondering why of all things, the gem had rolled to him, and also why everyone had decided to choose him as the person to pick it up. Keeping his eyes on the golems, he slowly bent down, and picked up the gem.
  "So.. this is the heart? I doubt I'm some chosen one, Harold. It probably just rolled towards me by accident.."

[Solymr]

: It's worth a try anyways, if they try to attack us we can-

When Albert picked the gem, it glowed more and warmed his hand, while the golems kneeled from their position.

: That's it then, you're definitely chosen by Bor's Heart. Do you feel the immortality yet?

Albert squeezed the gem slightly, feeling its warmth. That was all he felt.
  "Not... really? It feels warm, but I don't feel anything else.. No rush of power, nothing."

: Huh. Maybe it does something only when the user is hurt? Like regeneration or something. Anyways, I think it's time we got back out, we can figure out how it works later.
