"Maybe that's for the best. I hope both of their families are doing well, considering."

She made a gesture with her right hand as if to indicate the war with Ixion.

"That's... it's hard to say exactly how much information our enemy has. We know he knows it's in this city, because we learned it right after he did from the same source. But we have the key, and he doesn't, so that buys us some time... but on the other hand he's Ixion's ally, so he might be able to leverage that and then he'd have the advantage..."

Lilly sighed deeply.

"I'll check out my room later. It'll be nice to get a change of clothes, assuming any of it still fits me."

She was a bit bigger in the chest than she used to be as a teenager.

"Um. I guess we should see Dad first. Seeing Mom again... the idea kinda terrifies me, y'know? Anyway, is he busy?"

Tomik had followed along behind Lilly, though he had stayed towards the back of the group, keeping an eye on everything as best he could. She certainly seemed happier than he had been expecting but that was good. She was with her family now. She was home and safe. What more could he ask for?

: Oh, I'm sure he'll understand.

Johnny and Lillian went to the study's door. Johnny knocked on the door and opened it without waiting for an answer. Their father was there, sitting in front of the desk, managing his papers, and he looked up annoyed.

: John, I've told you before about bothering me while I'm- He suddenly stopped as he saw who John was with. Lillian?

[SeriousConcentrate]

Lilly nervously raised a hand in greeting.

"...Hi, Dad. Uh, I'm home. _{I guess.} It's been a while, huh? Heh heh..."

[Haspen]

Laura stepped up a bit closer to Lily, just in case.

And, coincidentally, hear the conversation a little bit better.

[Solymr]

John Sr stood up and walked in front of Lillian and the rest.

: It's been years! Where have you been? And who are these people? Do your mother and your sister know that you're back? His face and tone had a mix of concern and annoyance.

[SeriousConcentrate]

"It's a long story. I've been all the way from Iceshore to Silverford, from Axbridge to Boltonsted... and that's just Alberal alone."

"I also, uh, broke out of Ixion's island prison Strohnban, and we've been beyond the Waygate and back. Like I said... very long story."

She turned slightly so she could look at the group, and noticed Tomik had decided to follow along as well. She gave him a brief smile, then turned back to her father.

"These guys are from the group I've been traveling with since we started running from Ixion. The big guy is Kyle, she's Laura, and this is Tomik."

"I haven't been to see Mom yet. We just got here. Um, we brought aid from Kizamo with us, too. They're unloading it in the plaza right now."

"So, uh... how have things been around here?"

[Solymr]

: Str- wh- the ship in the air?! This is unbelievable! You left for years, and- and- now you're here like nothing happened?! I'll get the rest...

: Wait, dad! We-

But John Sr already rushed out in the direction of the garden, ignoring his son.

: Dammit! He always does that! Johnny followed after him.

[SeriousConcentrate]

Lilly looked pained for a few seconds.

"I guess we'd better follow them, huh?"

And with that she followed along, making a gesture that the rest ought to trail after her; she knew the layout of the house so she didn't necessarily need to be right behind the Johns.

[Haspen]

CLUNK CLUNK CLUNK echoed through the corridors as Laura paced after Lily.

[Solymr]

Johhny and Lillian reached the garden but their father beat them to it.

: You won't believe who's back...

: Dad, we don't have time for this!

The two women that were in the lush garden were already alerted of Lillian's presence, and both of them turned their eyes at her in a glare, although one of them couldn't do much more than that, as the older woman was clearly unable to walk.

: You!

: ...!

: You dare show yourself after what you've done?

Kyle steps forward a little to stand before Lilly.
"Is that typically how people of high standing greet others?"

[SeriousConcentrate]

"Yeah, Ivy, I do dare. And if you want to try to do something about it, you may have grown up but you still aren't big enough that I can't wrestle you to the ground just like I used to."

Kyle stepped between the Rose sisters, and Lilly turned slightly to address him.

"I appreciate the back-up, but I can handle her. I used to tickle her until she wet herself when she was real little and I bet I can still do it. Sung her and Johnny to sleep, too."

[Haspen]

"Such a stately lady wet herself from tickles? How em-ba-ra-ssing." Laura 'butted' herself in front of Lily as well.

Kyle nods and steps back. He turns away and bites his hand to resist the urge to break into laughter. He was trying to be at least a little diplomatic as much as he would like to body slam some aristocrats.
