: Preparations are complete. You best get to Nikolai quick, you don't want to make him more impatient. Oh and, about your companion Asher, he's been taken in for some... questioning.

Everyone was rounded and lead to the ship, the group boarded along Nikolai and a bunch of mages loading supplies. Nikolai turned to Harold.

: I hope your plan works out...

: Don't worry. I won't let anyone get their hands on the Key or the Heart, even if it kills me.

The ship lifted off into the starry sky and started making its way to the sieged city.

~~~~Chapter 7xx: The Eleventh Hour~~~~

The group, except Asher, watched as they approached Coriven, a city built making good use of the surrounding mountains for natural defense, now unable to break the siege as the attackers blocked the only route out of it. Dawn was starting to break and they could see some Ixion scouts looking up in disbelief.

As they started getting close to the city, Nikolai approached Lillian.

: You're the one that grew up here right? Can you tell me a bit about Coriven?

Kyle is making rude gestures at the scouts. He considers that this could backfire for a moment but it's really fun to do.

[SeriousConcentrate]

"Well, it's a bit of a... snooty place, y'know?"

"In Coriven, you're wealthy or you're a nobody. And frankly, we're probably not going to be well received."

Lilly gestured around the airship as if to indicate the majority of the party.

"We're a group of mostly foreigners, some of whom are Ixionites..."

Her hand indicated Kyle, who was currently busy making all sorts of hand gestures at the Ixion scouts.

"A crazy native who is 'giving Alberalians a bad name'..."

Finally, she indicated herself.

"And a matricidal whore. And no, I'm not going to explain that; suffice to say that's what they're going to see me as."

"I mean, it was a nice enough place growing up... but I was one of the upper-class back then. Now I'm on the other side of it, and it might not be pretty. But it's still my hometown, and I'll still fight to save it."

"I suppose you were wanting to know more about it. Well, as it's close to the border of three countries, it's a major trade hub, and it also built up a thriving mining and metalsmithing industry."

Lillian indicated the mountains, as if to explain where the iron and steel came from.

"It's also far away from the capital, so people - mostly mid to high level military officers - often choose to retire here and enjoy the mountain air in their twilight years. And, of course, this is Alberal, so religion is central to the city. You probably saw the spires of the cathedral as we flew in."

Kyle looks over at the native comment before shrugging and giving a thumbs up.

[SeriousConcentrate]

"No offense Kyle!"

Kyle pushes off the railing and walks over to Lillian. He smells slightly different. Like, kind of fruity and spiced. It's rather nice actually.
"Oh, none taken. Not like it's wrong after all!"

Lilly sniffed, then raised an eyebrow.

"Did you get into the rum, by any chance?"

Kyle straightens up with an indignant look.
"Of course I didn't! I used my own stash. Wanted to try and minimize the impact of the... everything else."

[Sirus]

: "Forget about the rum...what the hell is that smell? Some unholy mix of fruit, gutrot, and unwashed clothes."

[SeriousConcentrate]

Lilly raised an eyebrow at Harlan and then pointed at the prior post where it was stated Kyle smelled pretty good.

"Are you sure? I don't smell that. Though I imagine we could all do with some new clothes, or at least clean ones."

"Kinda doubt anything at the family house would fit me these days, but couldn't hurt to look while I'm there, I guess. Assuming my old clothes weren't sold for a quick buck."

[Sirus]

: "...what? Am I the only one who washes their clothes in this group?"

[Twinwolf]

"You're not." Catherine provides. She doesn't smell particularly bad. Maybe a little burnt.

[SeriousConcentrate]

"No, I took care of that before we left Kizamo. Got a shower in, too. I have to take care of these clothes, they're... pretty much all I have, since the only thing I grabbed when we broke out was my guitar; we didn't have time for me to find my pack."

[Haspen]

"I wash my clothes and clean my armor regularly, it's... a habit." After a moment, Laura chuckled quietly and turned away.
