Without another word, he readied himself for whatever lied beyond the door.

The opening revealed a dark room. Nikolai pressed the light switch.

All that was there was some machines making noise.

"Empty. Guess it was a waste of time."

Nikolai grumbled forward the various machines while the rest followed.

: I swear if one of the kids left everything unlocked I will roast them over a fire! *grumblegrumble*

Nikolai got to the big machine at the end of the room, took the lid off and crawled inside. Just a moment later a light flashed at the door and a small group of black clothed people appeared.

From the inside of the machine Nikolai's voice could be heard.

Good thing we came here after all. Someone disabled the antiteleportation field.

The assassins sent to prevent the reactivation seemed to be taken aback at the presence of escorts, but nonetheless braced their weapons and prepared to attack.
