Tomik gave a shrug.

"Either way, Ketsuki is less than pleased. Apparently the gem imbued a soul in the blade. So. A story for you to collect if nothing else."


He smiled at Lilly.

[Haspen]

"Does the enchanted blade do something extra besides talking? Spit flames? Cleave mountains??"

[SeriousConcentrate]

"Huh."

Lilly really didn't know what to say about this development.

"Mmm, well, I hope she gets along with it...?"

She returned her guitar to its position on her back and tightened the strap around her shoulder, then walked up to Tomik and put her hands on his waist, smiling up at him.

"We'll worry about collecting stories later. I mean, our journey alone is going to be a hell of a tale, isn't it?"

[Haspen]

Seeing the hug and the mushy-cuddly affections, Laura sighed.

"Should I find you two a room?"

[SeriousConcentrate]

"Hmm? No, I don't think we need one right now, Laura."

She turned back to Tomik and whispered.

"_{That is, ah, unless you think otherwise...}"

[Haspen]

A very belated question struck Laura's head and demanded to be asked.

"Hey, Lily, was that first part of the song its original lyrics or did you have numerous lovers already in life?"

[SeriousConcentrate]

Lilly laughed.

"I didn't write it, Laura!"

"I learned that one from a woman I met in the northeast of Alberal, a little crossroads town called Deer Grove. I think her name was Beatrice Wren, and she wrote it. That was about two years ago or so."

Tomik blushed and mumbled something under his breath before continuing,

"Err, uhm, right. No need for a room, no. Though I do think it's getting later. We should maybe figure out what our arrangements for the night are.

[SeriousConcentrate]

"I guess we will have to take care of that soon. I guess we could ask Lady Anne if there's a place here we can stay, or if we'll have to make our own arrangements. Let's go see her and Nikolai."

She took Tomik's right hand in her left and headed back to where they had left their benefactors. It took a little while before she found them.

"Hey, um... so it just occurred to us, where are we staying tonight? We... are staying the night in town, right?"

[Haspen]

"I see..."

"Well then, I just assumed too much, sorry." Then Tomik chimed in.

"So... how long will we be staying here?"

[Solymr]

When Lillian arrived Nikolai had already left, and only Anne-Laude remained there.

: Oh, hello. Sir Phineas has no problem with letting you all use the guest house for now. I can show you around a bit if you want, I've had to stay here the last few days.

[Haspen]

"How long will we be staying??" Laura's voice a bit louder than previously.

[SeriousConcentrate]

"That'd be great, thanks!"

Lilly gave Tomik's hand a little squeeze while she waited for Laura's question to be answered. Presumably they would get the tour afterwards.

Tomik smiled and squeezed her hand back. He seemed content just standing there with her.

Lilly glanced up at Tomik and smiled back at him, the tip of her thumb idly rubbing against the side of his thumb.
