Kyle looks like he's about to get angry before pausing and taking a breath.
"I won't deny the pillaging and burning, but I have to much respect for women to touch them in any way that could be considered inappropriate. I would appreciate it if you didn't accuse me of doing that again."

: "Uh huh. Well, it's just a phrase describing what pirates generally do. I wasn't specifically accusing you of anything, and to be honest I don't really care what you may or may not have done."

"Well, I can't help but feel a little targeted with that because you were talking about pirates specifically in relation to me. And, you know, I already feel major amounts of guilt over what I have done so I really don't like- I'm rambling. I'll shut up."

"At least I haven't heard Anne-Laude and other people talk about my family so... here's hoping my father pulled some strings and instead of being deployed, my siblings got clerk jobs at the rear or cozy positions commanding obscure outposts in middle of nowhere. Not a very prestigious role for a proud family like mine... but I would better see them at a desk rather than see them risk their lives on the battlefield."

"Well, I mean, my older brother is the captain of a church unit, and my younger brother might have followed him into the military. So... I dunno what could have happened to them, and then my father and sister are probably still in Coriven..."

And unsaid, so was her son. And that was worrying, but she wasn't about to talk about it in front of Laura.

Harold tried to change subject from uncomfortable topics.

: Well, how about what do we do with the black gem? Who do we ask about it? It's possible that asking a random mage might get us into trouble.
Then he'll like some basic lightning or maybe wards. Hunter magic might be too much for him. Does he like going on the offensive or a bit more defensive?

"More defensive, I would say."

: "Well, we could always put it in my bag unless you'd rather handle it yourself. You probably know more about black probably-magical gems than I do. As for who to bring it to; Nikolai is one option, or that man we met when we arrived. The important-looking one."

"We could try licking it first."

: No licking an unknown stone. Didn't you come with another dark mage in your group? We could try asking him, maybe he'll stick around if he's interested.
Warding magic then, definitely. It will increase his defenses and still put a good burn on his enemies. The nun winked at Ketsuki and pulled out the Warding tomes.

: "If you really think we should be trusting someone we found in what could have been Hell, sure."

"I mean we all went there as well. Unless it's to mean we were supposed to destroy hell from within I'd say that someone who was also in hell is trustworthy enough for now."

Tomik headed to the weapons shop next. Here he was significantly more comfortable and picked up a good selection of weapons for various members of the party.

: No idea. You've known him for all the 5 minutes longer than I have. Now that I think of it, I have something to do. You choose what to do with it.

Harold gave the gem to Harlan and went to find Senija.
The trader got a big bag full of gold while Tomik got buried under a mountain of murder metal.
