Kyle wanders over to the trap door and peers into it.

[Solymr]

They looked around the bar for anything that could tell what happened, but there was little. In fact, even if a little blood and ashes remained, the place had been cleaned of any bodies, weapons, valuables or papers.

: Hmm. The place has been picked clean from anything interesting. Not even corpses. Do you think it was a raid by the guards gone wrong?

Harold looked over at Kyle. The trap door lead to a dark room, but there was a button visible.

: And if yes, do you think they found that?

[Sirus]

: "Guards would have taken the booze and boarded the place up. Something else is going on here. Let's check out these hidden stairs."

Kyle shrugs as he downs the last of his personal bottle.
"No clue... but since we're already doing something stupid and illegal, I'm gonna jump into this hole."
Kyle says as he begins setting down his booze.

[Solymr]

As the brothers also went down, they soon realized it was pitch black anywhere not directly below the trapdoor.

: Did no one bring a light?

[Sirus]

Harlan could actually see surprisingly well, considering all the night work he used to do.

: "Harold, hold onto my hand. Kyle, you hold onto Harold's other hand. Stay behind me, and I'll go slow. Don't want to be stumbling into any traps."

[Solymr]

: Wait, what about this button? Think it's a trap?

Harold pointed at the button barely visible with the light coming from the trap door.

[Sirus]

: "Could be. Could also be harmless, but I doubt it. Let's take a look..."

Harlan reached into his Treasure-Mark-Turned-Bag, and pulled out several examination tools (including a large magnifying glass). Check the button! Disarm if it is a trap.

[Solymr]

Harlan checked the button up close. The button seems normal, but just below it there was a near inperceptible pushable panel.

He picked both apart. Behind the wall, the button was connected to a wire going down, while the panel had a wire going up.

: ... Where did you get that from?

[Sirus]

: "Catherine found it somewhere, though it was just a map at the time. You'd have to ask her where she got it." Harlan packed his tools away and dusted his fingers off.

[Solymr]

Harold looked at the things.

: Well, it's definitely useful. Why do you think they have a hidden button next to a regular button?

Harold looked up and then down, but it was too dark for him to see.

[Sirus]

: "It comes in handy all right. Anyway, the most obvious reason I can imagine is to trick unknowing intruders into pressing the obvious switch, which would either trigger a trap or set off an alarm. Or both. Only the observant or those in the know would notice the hidden switch, which means it's probably the safe one. Probably."

Harlan cautiously presses the hidden wall panel.

[Solymr]

Harold was still looking up when a light hit him in the face and blinded him for a second. The panel had turned on some lights similar to the ones used on the streets but smaller, so now the place was lighted up.

They could see they were in a hallway, and the floor had little holes in them. And a blood trail all the way to the end of the hallway.

: This doesn't look like a regular bar's storage room.

[Sirus]

: "At least this probably explains how they got Lilly out without anyone on the street noticing. Stay right behind me, I'm not willing to go rushing into a mysterious corridor with holes in the floor."

Harlan carefully makes his way down the hall, ready to deal with any traps that he can find. Follow the blood trail to the end.

[Solymr]

Harlan led the others down the hallway, careful to avoid the few pressure plates along the way.

At the end of the hallway, another wooden door, sworn enemies of Kyle, blocked their way.
