: "In fairness to you, you didn't know all of that at the time. Just give her some time to cool down and offer an apology. She's hot-headed but not really that mean, so she's unlikely to bite your head off."

: She's a combination of interesting and scary that makes me say things I instantly regret. I'll try to think of something that doesn't make me sounds like an idiot... Thanks, bro.

: "No problem. And just take it easy, all right? I'll see you around."

[Powder Miner]

:"Eeehhh... only a couple of times. See, Mom's a pro, though it usually wasn't patrols so much as hunting and scouting -- there weren't any real major armies or anything up there in Dargas! But Mom is really super fast and super knowledgeable, so she can tend to flash from place to place before I really even realize what's going on! Eheh, I guess both of us are a bit fast to make decisions."

[Ochita]

  "I.. I'm sorry. I'm certain that you'll get your chance to avenge him.. The people that did this have to surface again, right?" Albert reassured, gently patting Ketsuki on the back.
  "I.. think he was proud of you, at the end. You were.. Really strong, fighting against him. I don't think a lot of people could manage that."

In a single smooth motion Ketsuki drew the Killing Edge and inspected the gleaming metal.

"I always expected that one day, I would defeat him and take up this sword. But that- that was not the way I wanted. Not at all." She let out a small sound of self-depreciation. "Strong to defeat him? Perhaps. But if I was stronger... perhaps he would have taken me with him, and his fate could have been avoided."
"If I had just been stronger-!"

[SeriousConcentrate]

"I see. It sounds like you do take after her a lot."

Lilly smiled and turned her gaze toward the horizon.

"A life in the mountains sounds peaceful. Perfect to get away from it all and, I dunno, start a family. It certainly sounds less judgemental than growing up in Alberal and having to fit in... or not bothering to and being a black sheep in the family."

[Powder Miner]

:"Guess you're right about that. We are pretty isolated up in Dargas, and there isn't so much all of that specific way of things you HAVE to fit into... still, it ain't entirely judgement-free, being pretty close-knit."
:"Heh, it ain't exactly easy either, but I don't think any of us will have a problem with that."

[SeriousConcentrate]

"Still, it can't be any worse. I'll have to learn a few things, though. I'm really only good at music, but maybe that'll be appreciated."

Lilly sighed.

"I think Tomik and I have worked it out, and I'm going to do my best to not get scared and run away again. So, umm... would you be willing to hit me in the head if I start freaking out again?"

[Powder Miner]

:"What?! Lilly, no, I'm not going to hit you in the head, I'd probably bash your brains out!"

[SeriousConcentrate]

"Yeah, that's probably a bad idea! You're strong and I'm... sorta frail."

Lilly chuckled to herself.

"You get what I mean though, right?"

[Powder Miner]

:"I'll... do what I have to short of hurting you."

[SeriousConcentrate]

"I knew I could count on you."

Lilly patted Senija's shoulder.

"I... suppose I ought to tell you, too. One of the reasons I was so indecisive is that... well, I have a son in Coriven. He'll be nine soon, and I... haven't seen him since he was born. His father's decision. And I didn't know how Tomik would react, and I didn't really want to talk about it with anyone... It was my burden to bear, y'know? But I've felt better since I talked to him about it."
