Laura looked at Kyle, then at the landscape again.

Kyle looks mildly surprised before leaning his head on his arm.
"... So, what are you caring about now?"

"_{Nothing... why should I? We're either dead, or trapped in hell.}"

"Well, that's never stopped people in the legends. Sure, they never mentioned how to get out without divine assistance, but there's no reason to not try. I mean, what's the worse that can happen? We're already dead and in hell."

"_..." Laura considered an answer, but then just decided to shrug and fix her eyes on the horizon. If there was one.

"Mm. Say, where do your summons come from? I saw no corpses in the cell, and yet you could summon one regardless.

I'll come with you to examine them."

Ketsuki nodded in thanks at Albert and began to pile stones onto her Master's body.
If she was going to leave him here, she could at least build a cairn.

Tomik froze and took a step back, though he kept a hand on one of her shoulders.

"I... Your father asked you to do that? What kind of... His job is to protect you. To make sure you're taken care of and safe and he sold you to the highest bidder? You say you agreed but of course you did. He told you this was the only way to save the family probably and you'd been hoping for so long to earn their love and that... that bastard."

He took a further step back and let go of her shoulder, clenching his fists and growling slightly under his breath. He started to say something more before closing his eyes and slowly taking a few deep breaths. Opening his eyes again, he looked back at her.

"Sorry. I... I don't have as volatile a temper as Senija but I can still lose control of it sometimes and... I was close there. You probably don't need me getting angry at your dad. But... If you need to check in on your son, of course we can try and help you see him. I... I'm not going to say that it isn't weird to hear that you have a son but it's something you did to try and save your family. So don't believe the lies they told you about being a terrible daughter. You loved your family even when they refused to love you. You helped save them. You deserve so much better than them and I wish that I could change the past for you because you don't deserve to be carrying that burden and I'm so sorry that you have to."

"_..." Laura let out a sigh.

"_Whatever."

"Are you going to do the whole 'what's the point of anything we're already dead' thing all day? I don't mind, but the people who are trying to get us out of here might be annoyed."

"So? They are free to leave me behind. Lily said I'm useless, and she has kinda a point..."

"Don't get me wrong, Lilly's my friend, but she's full of shit in that case. I mean, did you see what you did to Ketsuki's master with one hit? If anyone's useless, it's me. I mean, I only seem to upset people and fight. Which isn't that useful if you want to stop being a fugitive like you guys... Er, us I suppose."
