Lamden paused when he walked through the doorway, but shortly after pressed on and started to board the ship.
: "I have questions as well, but that can wait. Time is of the essence." He mentioned to Albert on passing.

After everyone boarded the ship, Nikolai started the engine.

: Hang on! We have lift off!

The humming got louder, and the top part of the room opened up to reveal the blue sky. The ship soon started gaining altitude, until they were well above the ground and the room closed again as if it were never there. The propellers started turning, the ship slowly moved forward towards Alberal.

~~~~Chapter 4: Death From Above~~~~

Just a day following Lillian's rescue, the party were forced to start moving again. Hearing of the start of the war between Ixion and Alberal, some members were in a hurry, while others had to split up. Zane stayed in Veyriden to help with the city's defense, Alessa went back her own way, and Clare flew off into the distance without a word. Meanwhile the rest of the group are flying aboard Nikolai's flying ship making their way towards Alberal.

From the ship, the desert was moving slowly below them. But the flying ship was faster than it looked, and in not even a full day the end of the desert started to be visible, which meant Alberal was close.

: We're almost there! I'll slow down the ship so you can descend. I have to keep scouting the border.

Lilly looked at Tomik.

"All right, I'm ready to land if everyone else is."

[GiglameshDespair]

"Indeed."

[Sirus]

Harlan kinda wanted to fly around some more, but...

: "So which way are we heading once we're on the ground?"

While making the ship slow down until it had stopped in midair, Nikolai was rambling the whole time.

: I've been studying on the terrorist teleportation method and I think I figured out a way to teleport quickly to a point. It just needs some sort of beacon at the destination and anyone with a teleportation device tuned to that beacon can teleport there with the press of a switch instead of the complex rituals that were required before at both departure and destination. Of course this would still need someone to be already at the destination to place the device because I cannot figure out how does he just flash to wherever he wants. My guess is that it's some sort of anomaly within him... blahblahblah

He kept going for a while until Harold interrupted him.

: Hey! There's something going on down there!

Harold pointed to a bunch of houses getting demolished by people wearing Ixion colors. Brutes with axes were smashing the walls down while mages burned the remains to a crisp.

: I don't see any sort of militia or resistance trying to fight them! They're just sacking the village!

: Oh that's not good. They're much closer to the border than I thought!

[Swordstar]

"Damn. Senija, come on."

Jumping onto his wyvern, Tomik shot down towards the village at top speed, hoping to surprise them by appearing from the sky. As they got closer, Modra let out a roar, and Tomik aimed a lance at one of the enemies nearby.

Before she could fly away, Harold threw something at Senija.

: I think you could make good use of that!

Senija gets Dancer Ribbon!

While the ship slows down and descends enough to lower a platform with all the non-fliers, Tomik flew straight at an archer overlooking the cliff where the others were landing. The appearance of the flying ship had left him staring with his mouth open until he realized the wyvern was coming straight at him. He fumbled around to shoot an arrow that missed by a wide margin, but made the wyvern turn around enough for him to scramble back from the cliff's edge and shout a warning.

WE'RE UNDER ATTACK!

Not far from there, the last standing house was being threatened by the thugs moving to finish the job.

Albert was leaning against the closest thing to the center of the ship, trying hard to not let the fact that he was really high up get to him, but he stumbled over to the side, and gasped when he saw the destruction of the village.
  "Th..This is terrible.."

Lamden wasted no time disembarking with his horse and rushing to the remaining house.
: "Unacceptable!"

Senija flew out much as Tomik did (after stuffing the ribbon under her collar)... But where Tomik's wyvern did the roaring, Senija made plenty of threatening sound for herself.
:"OI! You all down there! You best stop before I strangle you with your intestines! Or pull your leg off of your body and beat you to death with it! Or stab you so hard I rip your spine right out of your back! Or something else awful!"
