Lamden, noticing the disturbance, cracked open an eye in Tomik's direction.
: "Sir Tomik? I am not leaving before morning, if you are concerned." His voice carried a bit of a worn-out tone.

"No, no. Don't worry. Though you don't need to call me Sir. I'm no knight, I'm just a simple mercenary. As for what I want... I was wondering... I know little of your past. I wanted to apologize if I stepped over a line. Clearly you care about your country. I was simply trying to do what was best for the group, as we are all exhausted. But still."

: "Knight or no, Sir Tomik, I'm afraid you're going to have to live with it."
: "I apologize as well, I had lost my composure. However, as you say, I have no desire to... well, waste lives and sacrifices made in my charge's name to see them under threat again without my aid." Lamden attempted to shake his sling-bound arm before falling silent for a moment, "...Is Lady Laura unharmed, at the least?"

Tomik sighed slightly.

"You really don't... but right. Laura seemed to be doing ok. She and I talked about things for a little and then she ran off with Albert. Or... ran off with Albert in pursuit. I think there are... feelings involved in that."

After a pause, he looked at the other man and asked,

"Would you mind telling me more about yourself? I feel like... we've all been forced together and yet there's so much I don't know about so many of you. And... since for whatever reason people seem to be looking to me to be the leader, I feel like I should try harder."

The cavalier seemed somewhat taken aback by Tomik's last statement.
: "You are an odd young man, do you know that? Most wouldn't be so forward." Lamden attempted to straighten up, "Well, if you were to take my opinion, you shouldn't be too hard on yourself under these harsh conditions."
: "Understand that we're all allies of circumstance, here. Only recently broken out of prison and on the run since, and should any of us have taken separate ways up until now, the odds of being caught by Ixion without allies to fight back would be rather high. But now we are out of Ixion's direct clutches, and about to move from Kizamo as well. Soon there will be little reason to remain in one group, unless there is a unifying purpose. No leader can fix that. If I were you, I would focus on finding a way to help those who will be threatened by that... 'Twilight Walker'."
Lamden's face twitched as he seemed to make a realization.
: "Ah... right, you asked about me, didn't you?" The cavalier shifted, "Well, there's one thing at least, I tend to ramble if you let me. That aside, there's nothing grandiose to say. I was born to farmers in Alberal, raised as a guard for the city of Auroch, and work as a cavalier and healer for Lord Luso and Milady-... well, the Bishop of Auroch."

Senija raised a hand to shush Lilly.
:"No. You stop that. You are the only one who thinks that."

"I wish that were true. But... as long as Tomik is worried about me more than everyone else, I'm just going to cause trouble whether or not I want to. And now we're heading into a warzone, and that's no place for me. I'll just get in everyone's way."

Lilly released her hand from Senija's so she could bury her face in her hands, her fingers tangled in her hair.

"And I feel bad about that. I want to love him back, but there are things about me that... well, if he knew, I'm not sure how he would feel. It's all so complicated."

"And on top of all that, the war... I hope nothing happens to my little brother and sister. Coriven isn't that far from the border."

"Ah, well, I think that's Senija rubbing off on me. She's not exactly subtle if you hadn't noticed... But... That's exactly the problem, isn't it? We're all different but... If it wasn't for that... man who kidnapped Lilly, I'd say maybe it would be for the best that we did split up. But after... after what I did, I can't just leave him to roam around. And I can't fight him on my own. So instead I need to try and keep everyone together... Ah, I can ramble a bit too it seems. Interesting. Well, I guess that explains the rush to get back. I hope that we can help save those you care about."

Albert hmm'ed thoughtfully.
  "Well... Maybe those things could be cheaper than you thought? It couldn't hurt to at least look for them.."
