:"I dunno really if you're the one I should be talking with about this, but I'm, just... I'm not very happy with Tomik right now."

  "Well, it would be nice to enjoy something to eat.. We've all been running and walking for ages.. So yes, I'd appreciate knowing what your sweet buns are like. Maybe they'll probably be a really nice treat."

"Teehee, it's a special recipe!"

"...oh, but I don't think I will get enough money to buy hazelnuts and brown sugar for that..." And Laura was sulking once more.

"It's certainly interesting times. I must admit I chose quite the group to tag along with when I decided to leave the city. Ancient artefacts and wars. Is this a normal sort of time for you, or did I just join in at the exciting part?"

Lilly took Senija's hand in hers in a companionable gesture.

"No, it's OK. I'll listen. I owe you - everyone - that, at least."

[Sirus]

: "Well, before you showed up we had all just broken out of prison...so I guess this is normal now?" After a couple of coughs, he continued.

: "But until my prison stay I was just a criminal. This is far outside my experience. I assume it's the same for you."

[GiglameshDespair]

"I was an arena fighter, and before that, a brash teenager with more confidence than sense and a strict master. So yes, it is somewhat outside my experience as well, I must admit." she glanced at him with her single eye. "So why are you still with this 'lost cause', may I ask? You certainly seem like you'd have the abilities to slip away by yourself at some point. Where you all acquaintances before your jailbreak?"

[Sirus]

The thief shrugged.

: "Unless you count being in adjacent cells as being acquainted, not really. I guess I haven't 'slipped away' because I've got nothing else to do. On my own, I'd either go back to cutting purses until Death finally caught up to me, or go stir-crazy in some convalescent home.
"But you dodged the question. Why are you still sticking around? I know you've got that master of yours waiting for his star pupil to return."

Senija sighed.
:"Anyways... Tomik and Kyle were about to get in a fight and all, you saw that... and Tomik basically used me as a threat, and though that made me a little uncomfortable, I really would have gone at Kyle if he'd attacked. But then Tomik actually invited Kyle to attack him right there and, he wasn't gonna let me help either! I've been the one looking out for him for years, and now... it just kinda feels like I was... a weapon tossed when he didn't need me or something there, not his big sister, and I... don't like it."

[GiglameshDespair]

"Well, it might be difficult to get back on my own, now. I'd have to cross the desert and head back into Ixion.

And... I'm not strong enough to return home and keep my pride. I know if I return, my master will demand I show him how much I've improved, and I've not improved enough. The days ahead if I follow this group will be difficult, but the strongest roots are set against the storm." She chuckled ruefully. "I couldn't match him even close before I lost my eye, and that did my technique no favours."

[SeriousConcentrate]

Lilly squeezed her hand.

"Your brother isn't the type to let go of anyone important to him, I think. I don't think he meant to insult you, but maybe he wanted to prove he could stand on his own if he had to."

The bard sighed and looked down.

"I think... Maybe all of us, you, me, Tomik, Laura, Kyle... We have a problem with not thinking before we do things, and we hurt our friends without meaning to because of that."

She looked back up at Senija.

"I'm really, really sorry I dragged everyone into that mess. I'm sorry I'm useless and a burden to everyone. I would understand if most of you wanted to leave me behind. I don't know what else to say."

[Sirus]

Harlan couldn't really fault Ketsuki's logic. Even if he didn't really get the whole master thing.

: "All right, fair enough. And it's not like it will be easy to get back inside Ixion until the war ends, even if there wasn't a desert to get through."

: "For what it's worth, I'm glad you're here. A skilled swordsman - or woman - can be worth their weight in gold in times like these."

: "Very well. Take this, and I will also purchase a Sleep staff as well."
Lamden sells the Poison staff and buys 2x Heal and Sleep!
Walking out of the store with four staves awkwardly occupying the sling across his back, Lamden made his way to the garden outside Nikolai's abode. Sitting down on a patch of grass, he laid the staves out in front of him and folded his legs. Making a short gesture with his good hand, he then closed his eyes in prayer.

Tomik sighed, before wandering back towards the group. He spotted Senija and Lilly talking, but he hesitated before joining them. They seemed to be having some sort of personal conversation, so he headed back to the place where he'd left the rest of them, where he spotted Lamden sitting, seemingly praying. He quietly sat down near the other man and waited so e could talk to the man.
