Wrapping his arms around her, he sighed happily.

"I'd never run away without you."

[SeriousConcentrate]

"You'd better not. I wouldn't take very kindly to it."

She patted his hands again, leaving hers on his for the moment.

"...Although maybe we could stay in here a few moments longer..."

[Swordstar]

"I was thinking the same thing."

[SeriousConcentrate]

Lillian turned in his arms so she was facing him and rested her cheek against the cool, hard steel of his armor. It was easier to stay here in his embrace than to go back out there and pretend she didn't know what they all secretly thought of her... and so she chose not to. As long as she had these small moments to feel like she belonged, she could endure their silent scorn.

...She hoped.

"Mmm. All that playing and singing wore me out. I think maybe a break like this is just what we needed."

[Swordstar]

"Yeah. It's nice to get away from everyone for a while. Just the two of us."

[Solymr]

: Jeez, man, of course I'm staying... We really need to talk about why you're here because you make it sound like you assassinated the king! Look, we're not in Ixion anymore. Kizamo has nothing to do with Ixion, they don't care what you did there as long as you don't screw them over.

: ... You didn't screw over some Kizamo mages, right?
Meanwhile deep within the temple a loud rumble went off, and strange sounds started echoing through the ruins.

[Swordstar]

Startled, Tomik sat up straight.

"What the... What do you think that was?"

[SeriousConcentrate]

Lillian had jumped, much like when Tomik had startled her, the second the sound went off. She felt frazzled.

"Um, I dunno. Do you think we should... investigate, or um, run?"

[Sirus]

Harlan chuckled.

: "No, nothing like that. Ever hear of a place called "Stronbahn"?" He waited to see if his younger brother would get what he was implying.

[Swordstar]

"Well... You wanted to go on adventures, right? What sort of adventurers would we be if we backed down from a scary noise?"

He stood up and offered her his hand.

[SeriousConcentrate]

Lillian took it and pulled herself up, grabbed her guitar from where it was leaned against a sarcophagus, and slid her pick out of her wristband.

"OK. As soon as I can get my heartbeat under control, I'm ready."

She closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and thought of it as playing in front of a large crowd instead of walking into the unknown. It took a few moments to make the mental adjustments necessary.

"Ready. Let's go."

She started off in the direction of the rumbling.

[Swordstar]

"Right behind you."

They headed deeper into the tunnel, though Tomik had the lance he'd picked up from the fallen enemy out just in case.

[Solymr]

: What? No way... I don't believe what you're trying to say, man. It's just not possible.
The first step Lillian took made something under her foot click, which triggered an arrow shooting past right in front of her eyes.

Not only that, the rumbling turned into a loud whirring sound, indicating that you should get the hell out whatever it was, it was coming straight at Lillian quite quickly.

[Sirus]

: "Trust me, I had my doubts about whether it could be done right up until about the moment the ship we stole left the harbor." The thief turned serious again.

: "The Ixani can't let word get out that their inescapable prison isn't quite as perfect they'd like people to believe, can they? They've been chasing us ever since, which is why we're trying to get across the border. So I ask again: are you absolutely sure you want to get involved? This could destroy your career, you know."

[Swordstar]

Tomik frowned. Grabbing Lilly by the shoulder, he turned the two of them around.

"That's it. Sorry, but we're getting out of here. Come on."

With that, he started moving quickly towards the exit.
