"I know all that. You think who cleaned executioner's axe? Who helped toss the bodies over the cliff into the sea? Just because I leisurely cast my former life away on a chance, instead of gruesomely fighting my way to secure it, doesn't mean you have any reason to think of yourself better than me. And what I was supposed to do? I happen to like my life. If I fought against you, you would kill me like you did Warden, without batting an eye as long as it lets you escape. Stand aside and let you run away? Then for once, I wouldn't be tossing bodies into the sea - I would be thrown into it instead."

"And I'm sorry that you as well seem to follow the thinking of 'now or never', because I happen to not share such philosophy of life. So far we have survived. Who is to say we won't survive until our hundreth birthday. Plenty of time to pursue romance without sharing beds week after first date. Mayhaps I prefer to be courted? Given gifts, taken on long walks? Let the emotion bud, bloom and mature? If I'm to be honest, painfully honest - I wish you never had the chance to escape."

"Thinking that you have 'no time for anything because you will die tomorrow'. That's how I perceive your thinking - definitely not as pursuit of happiness."

The scroll that Kyle had contained an ancient fencing technique applied to a variety of weapons. It described in detail how the enemy would react when facing the stance described, allowing better prediction of movement.

Kyle managed to understand some of the knowledge of the scroll, but the sentence that standed out the most was the very last one: "This scroll will autodestruct in 5".

Soon after, the scroll went up in magical flames, and Kyle was a little bit wiser.

Kyle gets +1 SKL!

Lamden finished adjusting his overshirt and sighed, raising his working hand in a sort of mediating gesture while glancing at Harlan.
: "These walks of life take everyone down different paths. You cannot simply decree water to flow one way or the other. A river takes the path it sees along the hills, moving with the goal of reuniting with the sea. And much like a river, people will cling to different paths based on the opportunities life gives them."
Lamden slowly shifted his gaze from Harlan to Laura, then back to Harlan.
: "One soul may have been waiting their entire life to find their peace with another, but if their life has been reduced to nothing but seeing a cell wall, who is to say they will ever get another chance if they do not seize what is there? Another might have lived peacefully with their own family, and know all too painfully the risks of acting brashly and risk to throw everything they ever had away, why should they move at the pace others demand? There is no answer until the end, and it is all we can do to follow the clues we are given."
Lamden glanced back at Laura and tried to put on his usual smile.
: "And the ride? I just wouldn't want to leave anyone to ford a league of rain and mud. Let alone a fair lady such as yourself. Call it an old habit if you prefer."

"..." Laura had enough verbose talking, it tired her quickly, especially if it followed a burst of anger.

"Thank you for being considerate, Lamden." She spoke without indicating if it was in gratitude for the ride, for the talk, or both.

Lamden nodded slowly.
: "If I may be so bold, I recommend you get some rest, Lady Laura." Lamden gave a concerned glance, "And should you need, my ears are ready to listen. At any time."

"Don't call me Lady... I lost all nobility I had when I helped these bunch run from the prison. I propably cannot call myself Silfursverd anymore, too. Good night. You are right, I need sleep." Laura, rubbing her temples, when upstairs and then to one of the empty rooms, to get what she needed. Sleep.

Kyle walks over to Harlan looking sheepish. Well, as sheepish as he can really. He's still got the whole crazed axe murderer thing going for him slightly. In any case, Kyle speaks.
"Uh, sorry about... threatening to kill you. And lifting you up... I get excited easily and then I kind of... stop thinking."

"My master knew many strange remedies not used by healers in outside lands. If I found him, it's seem likely he could -"

Kyle interrupted.
Ketsuki merely raised an eyebrow and waited for Harlan's response.

Albert looked up at Senija, his eyes somewhat red.
: "Does running out of the inn count as being fine? No, I'm not alright."

Senija had never been good at this sort of thing. She shifted awkwardly.
:"Er, I... if it helps, it's not like... I'm Isbilya or something, I, uh, I'm not head-over-heels psycho or anything... don't even have a crush, just... Tomik decided to tease me, and, uh, I hadn't thought about it."

Albert kept up his stare, surprisingly still.
: "No, I guess you're not Isbilya. She may talk about destroying the world, but at least she doesn't talk around me as if I wasn't there."
