"Sorry! It's just, you're a thief, and um, thieves put their hands in other people's pockets, and, um, I kinda, don't really wanna get... groped."

"... I'm sure Harlan wouldn't do anything of the sort. Right?"

Harlan coughed a few times before responding.

: "Two simple rules have kept me alive for this long: never steal from associates, and never molest others. I can hardly blame you if you don't believe me, but it's the truth."

[SeriousConcentrate]

"Well, I mean... It's just this skirt only has... back pockets... so..."

Lilly trailed off.

Kyle looks towards Lilly's bottom for about a second before turning to his intended target, Ketsuki.
  "Can you move so I can embed an axe in that guy? He owes me money."

[Sirus]

: "You have my word that I wasn't attempting anything untoward, for whatever that's worth....though in my professional opinion, you should invest in a skirt with front pockets. They're harder to steal from."

"I suppose my attacks don't seem to be doing much against those who wield lances. Very well."

  "Thanks. I'M GOING TO GET MY MONEY BACK ONE WAY OR ANOTHER STEVE!"

"Well, perhaps, but I prefer this look. And anything I want to keep I can just get a belt pouch or a messenger's bag for, really."

She kept her money and vulneraries in belt pouches; other than that, she really only had her guitar and her pick. The former was always over her shoulder and the latter either in her hands or tucked safely into one of her wristbands for easy access.

Shrug.

: "Up to you." He resolved to keep an eye on the bard, or more specifically on the people near her. With all of her possessions either in easily-picked back pockets or in dangling bags that could be cut away, she was an easy target for thieves other than himself.

Lilly noticed Harlan looking at her and nervously crossed her arms, taking a moment to rub her upper arms against the chill of the rain.

"Um... So, you're sick, right? This weather, it's not... making it worse or anything, is it?"

[Sirus]

Harlan, somewhat uncharacteristically, hesitated before answering. He tried to frame the answer in a way that would hide the true extent of his illness.

: "The damp air doesn't help. Probably won't make any difference in the long run, but I doubt I'll get any sleep tonight for all the coughing."

[SeriousConcentrate]

"Oh. I see. Um, if you wanted to, you know, scoot off and find some shelter so you don't get worse, I mean, I think we'd understand... I mean, you don't want to get pneumonia or anything on top of what you already have, you know? That'd be terrible... you know, on the run AND practically bedridden from illness."

[Sirus]

The thief snorted in wry amusement.

: "As long as we don't spend the night out here sleeping in puddles, I'll be fine. Besides, after sitting in that damp prison cell for a few months a little rain feels almost normal."

[SeriousConcentrate]

"Oh. Well, if you're sure. Like you said, maybe now that we're out in the fresh air and we can get some real food to eat and a comfortable place to sleep, things'll be looking up. You'll be on your feet in no time."

"Assuming we can get away from these Ixion soldiers, anyway..."
