I like the redesign idea for the Jazz launcher, as opposed to just fixing the flaws.

So as we are waiting for a update, can I start up a small discussion?
May I propose that one of the frequent posters on this thread makes a post with current votes and maintains it (or I might do it myself) and links it in his sub so Ebbor has an easier job handling it?

As for the discussion - may I propose that the players state their "field of expertise" that they are most interested in - so we can have some people dedicated to proposing guns, artillery, ground vehicles, missiles, aeroplanes, etc.
Then my proposition is that we do single counter-proposal refinements on the 'main designs' by discussion of the given design - best done in a completly new OOC thread so we dont clutter this one. After we are satisfied with existing proposals we vote here - this could possibly streamline the whole thread. Also we would have something to do between updates.

I propose myself as the aeroplane designer.

I dont like that plan...
This is no democracy!

...

But truth be told it's somewhat against the freeform nature of this game...

I like claiming different preferences, because then we would know what each person wants.  For example I don't care too much about the navy.  I'm half opposed to a massive air-force.  If we blitz the enemy fast enough, then the enemy won't be able to use air power.  I see air power as an investment for the long term war of attrition.  I prefer shorter wars that have less casualties, unless we use missiles, but then those can only be fired once.

But I do want a well trained army of storm troopers/marines/what ever.  I would prefer it to be mechanized, but it is fine if we don't completely mechanize.  After the tank is done, I'll probably propose a howitzer gun and self propelled chassis.  It'll be for breaking forts and killing groups of infantry.  Could be used as a tank destroyer if the rail gun is put on it.

War must be, while we defend our lives against a destroyer who would devour all; but I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend.

We could always use missiles that make more missles out of what they hit instead of exploding~

Viral missles~

Yeah, but that is slightly hard.  Doable, but hard.  I say we do all the easy stuff first.  But that is a good idea.

I think it's a longterm goal.

Probs would need several separate designs programmed in them also.

Self repairing tanks would be cool too, but first we'd need to design the nano bots.  They'd probably be pretty horrible with 2020 tech.  That's only 6 years into the future.

Actually, canniblistic tanks would be easy.

Give them a way to slice a piece of armor off a dead tank and weld it on itself.
