Real question though, how would it play out if I have sanctuary HP left but the total damage takes me down to my real HP? So like... Taking 8 damage with 1 sanctuary hp left. Normally I wouldn't take damage but instead I would take one?

Hey Soly, minor problem with the big bad boss. He doesn't have a healing staff so he can't heal himself for HP with self healing.

Self Healing
Passive Effect
At the start of each allied round, characters with this skill regain Health, if they are equipped with a Healing staff, equal to their Magic stat. If they equipped a Status Ailment Healing or Inflicting Staff, their condition is returned to normal instead.

He can only restore his status to normal.
