D8 is probably a superior spot to stand defensively than E8. Less enemies can attack you at once, and it's closer to the exit, though not enough to make a significant difference.

Laura and/or Cat could be helpful to stay behind and help take out the enemies Tomik is going to be facing. Others should start to get out, though someone taking Anne (Lamden?) would be nice

Edit: Lamden could come grab her, then canto to C-7 and they both could get barded by Lilly so that he can continue getting out of here and Tomik can dismount
