Not humans and\or more than one race in the world
Would this make a difference?
If they have really different biology and we want to kill 'em via viruses, yes.
Only makes a difference then if it's much, much later. I'll add it to the poll, but I'm probably going to ignore it. It's more work for me after all.

This fort really does sit on the event horizon of madness and catastrophe
No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

As for non-human race(s)

If we have a humanoid race one meter high we can design quite different tanks, submarines, aircrafts, etc. While large race will have infantry that will be able to carry larger guns

Flying race will result in very different warfare. Amphibious can change naval warfare reducing sailor causalities.

Multirace worlds can create rather interesting scenarios.

War must be, while we defend our lives against a destroyer who would devour all; but I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend.

Space is at a premium when it comes to combat vehicles, but yeah sounds like they'd make awesome inf.

BTW, I think that "every thing as last" should automatically count for things like year and all that...
Or did those that voted for that also go thru and vote for the rest?

PTW. Will this still require us to put in all the technical details?

I see no reason not to.

Everything as last also negates any of the alternate history suggestions. So yes, if you really wanted 1920, you should have voted for the year as well.

Oh this is coming back? A futuristic setting would be lovely actually. (Something akin to battletech or the like would just be absolutely perfect in that sort of case.)

As for the turns, making them quarterly, and giving the design team no control over that aspect would be preferable.

Yes something between Macross, Votoms, or Muv-Luv (and the threat of Silicon-based life) would be the most welcome.

I would prefer hard sci-fi, since anything else, in my view, is equal to magic, including silicons-based life, mind control, most of the fun guff like plasma, hover tanks, artificial gravity that dosent involve thrusting (Cue puns) or spinning, a good chunk of genetic manipulation, most cybernetic things, etc. etc.

It would also tie in nicely with scarce materials, with a whole "earth has depleted its resources" thing, although with no modern chem... That would be hard.
Hey, if we have it in the 2020s we could have the techs be space instead of aircraft...(Removed because DUH!)

Really, we should have had options for normal grav and such...
