you begin to look around and see that you are at the end of a road made of permafrost, your knees are getting cold. there is a coniferous forest on either side of the road, but there is a clearing straight out from the end of the road

You sneak off into the tree line.
You notice that your tracks seem to lead off into the winding road.
You check your equipment, it seems to be good minus the cold metal bolt on the rifle.
You begin to walk around the clearing, you notice a mysterious pile of snow inside a crater in the middle of the clearing


Inventory & Status

Inventory: Olive drab red star uniform, Mosin Negant bolt action rifle (condition good), Tokarev TT-33 pistol (condition good), 5 rifle rounds in rifle, 30 rifle rounds in belt pouches, 7 pistol rounds in the pistol. 3 leather ammo pouches. One small leather back pack, with a bayonet, 3 cans of misc food stuffs and one can of water which seems to be frozen.

Status: Cold, winded, but not injured or sick

 Get low and watch it with your rifle. If nothing suspicious then just move on carefully. If it moves or anything pull the trigger on it.

If we pull the trigger stay low and watch for reactions.

Slowy work the bolt on our rifle back and forth to keep it from iceing shut.

You slide the bolt back, aparently there wastn one in the chamber, you load a round into the chamber. The cold, steel bayonet is fixed to the end of the rifle. The bolt seems to work smooth and not iced up.

You aim at the rather large lump of snow in the crater. It doesn't move. Some of the snow falls off and reveals something shiny underneath

Continue to look at it. If it's a tank then we should...turn back...quickly.
