Every single platoon, every single officer knew how important the incoming battle was. If Kralt forces weren't destroyed and the strategic mountain pass recaptured, it would mean a stream of republican military flooding over the Lototzkan mainland.

So when the battle begun, it was fierce and terrible. The horde of Lototzkans against two elite armies of Kralt Republic. The fighting lasted several days; numerous tiny strategical outposts saw action hour by hour, and few changed hands, sometimes several times per day. However, the Kraltian resolve simply faltered against the numerous Lototzkan armies.

Lototzkans won by attrition; they've lost five armies but managed to destroy both Kralt units stationed in newly acquired province. The banner of monarchy flew above the mountain enclaves once again after a week of bloody fighting! The damage to infrastructure was heavy, and the local Academy was turned to ruin.

The soldiers of Kralt rushed through the mountainous valley to reach the Harbakhstan capital. And then the fighting begun. Supported by the military aircraft, the republicans pushed hard against the fiercely loyal Harbakhstanese soldiers.

The first few armies had done nothing but merely scratch the Harbakhstan defenses. But Harbakhstan soldiers aren't invulnerable and died altogether with Kralt men. The last unit of Kralt army would be remembered in the song and ballad; 'The Charge of 64th Platoon' would be reminisced as the song of victory of few against numerous.

To the disbelief of all, the dictatorial offices were breached! Harbakhstan officials were arrested as the fighting pushed the remnants of the army out of Harbakhstan's heart.

The banner of Kralt, after a miracle of the year, fluttered about the burning Harbakhstan Capitol!

Few months later, the Republic of Kralt have united the whole continent under the thumb of Prime Minister Prime Minister Milčo Todorovski Manchevski. There will be rebels and dissidents but these will not befoul the glorious Republic.

It will take at least few decades for something to happen to threaten the integrity and glory of the Kralt Republic. But until that time...
