Yer a republic, so 25 normal provinces + 3 Populous provinces in Republic + Capital for Republic = 25 + 6 + 3 = 34 armies v:

Oh, I though populous gave +2 in addition to the provincial army.

Then I'm going to point out that Lototzka should get 9 (provinces) + 3*2 (populous) +2 (Capital, dictatorship) = 17 armies and not 21.(Not that it matter much since he's so far beneath the army limit anyway.)

You're assuming there will be a long run: I only need 9 more provinces to win. At my current rate of expansion, that's 3 turns. I'm afraid no one will have the time to deploy any new technologies* (Harb may get military aircraft, but  I doubt it: he needs 4 turns to research it, then one turn to build airfields, and that if I don't cut down his research rate first).

* I'm not counting Improved Material, because it doesn't give any tangible benefits.

You really should not have picked Monarchy. :p Also, you should have built more HQs while you could: Harb for example can pretty much loose all his army every turn, whereas you need 7 turns to fully replenish yours.

Research pacts should help next game, given they're flat bonus based on total amount of academies in both countries.

Not as useful as you'd think; Sure, I can regain a lot of troops every turn, but I can't pick where they spawn, and it's a long march to get back to the frontlines.

Well, the issue is that the fight system reward quality over quantity heavily. If you're a monarchy attacking a non-monarchy, you'll be at -1, they'll be at +2, so you're going to loose about 80% of your offensive battle (And 40% of your defensive battles). With these odds, unless you get lucky attacking a capital, you'll never get enough lands to grow fast enough.

Ye, I will think of something. Maybe +1 per 3 armies attacking the province? This would become +2 at 6 armies, +3 at 9 armies etc.

It's kinda weird to get a bonus if you attack 3 armies with 3 armies though. Why not +1 if you have twice as many troops, +2 if you have three time as many troops etc etc?
