You sprint towards a mother while the monster keeps on blindly swinging. you chop downwards, making it explode again in fragments. The creature seems to shudder, but you can't really tell. Before you can get to another one, the monster sobers up again and begins a charge. Taking a page from the past, you do you best to use one of the mother figures as a shield. You can get to one before it gets to you, and stupidly proceeds to munch on one again. You don't know why giant lumbering creatures are always stupid, even if they were clever enough to start a Freudian illusion. But, disregarding that, you make use of the small window of opportunity to swing your sword behind your back and swing with all your might into one of its legs. Your blade goes through the leg like a knife through butter. You get about halfway before you lose momentum, and you pull it out with surprising ease. It doesn't bleed at all, and you get the impression that past the baby heads it's hollow. Electricity arcs out of it, of course.

You put noticing things on hold as the creature makes itself ready for another sprint. You make the logical assumption that not being close might be a fun idea. It kicks off, but falls down due to its leg wound pretty much instantly. You make use of the time to sprint forward, jump into the air and give a ground-rumbling smash on its torso. Guessing from the fact that shortly thereafter you get sent flying through the air again, it likely didn't do that much. Your landing is, once again, not painful at all.
You dust yourself off, as the creature limps towards you, one hand over it's weak spot. It looks a lot less intimidating, having gone from weird monstrosity to a bunch of limpy baby heads.

This is just awkward. Let's try and find an exit. Or maybe some loot.

Boop more of the mothers with the sword, that might hurt it.

This is getting awkward, I am out of here.
Guessing from the lightning arcing around, it's insulted. As you move along, you make it a point to push your sword through the solid projections of your mother. Come to think of it, you haven't ever seen your mother in your life. The resemblance is there, of course, and there's that little feeling of just knowing, like in a dream?
Still, you didn't think your mother looked that much like a punk in her teen years. Or the years she was alive, more like. You still hear angry electronic roars as you go towards the closed doors, but it's dragging its leg along. It'll be a while before he gets here.

Sadly, the doors remain locked and will remain so until you finally smash that egg and find another thing in there. Probably a baby version of yourself that you have to kill to symbolise... some crap. You can't be bothered to care at this point. you are just so tired of the weird shit and you've barely even started. Still, that dragging sound is getting worse, so you jog towards another mother and stab that. You hear more voices inside your head, most of them screaming to stop that. They don't seem happy about you subverting their expectations. You reply by kicking one of the mothers towards the beast, which it bites into, with gusto. it screams in pain, and stops eating.
How the fuck can something be that stupid.

You decide you had enough of this crap, and just grab one of the mothers and use it as a shield. When it grabs you and ends up stunned by biting into his own illusion, you go for a stab towards the egg. A horrible screeching fills the air as the black electricity arcs to every single illusion and head that popped out of the ground.
And then it explodes, leaving nothing but a whole lot of smoke behind. The doors open again, but you're clever enough to check until the smoke clears. Sure enough, there's a little creature there. Fortunately, it's not a baby. It's a little bird, instead.
With black gunk covering its eyes, of course. So, what do you do?

Jumping ahead to when you're at the starting doors again, your options are : a door with a knife, one with a star and one with a skull on it.
To move it along a little bit, decide what to do with the Freudbird, then pick the next door. Or alternative action.

You carefully pick up the bird. It looks a bit like a large sparrow, although you can still tell it's a baby. Its head is a little too large for its body, and the feathers look more like fur than feathers. You perch it on your shoulder, after which it starts nibbling on your earlobe. It's surprisingly endearing.
You walk on back through the meat-tunnel, Icarus (seems like a fun name) stays on your shoulder without trouble. When you get to the doors again, you decide to go for the star-door. The door doesn't open easily, you have to put your shoulder against it and push. Icarus jumps off of you, flapping its wings to slow down its descent. It goes over to some bits of meat and starts pecking at it. You're about to put a stop to it when the door suddenly flies open and causes you to fall in like an idiot.

The door closes, and there's nothing but pure swallowing darkness around. You go by touch for a few seconds, before remembering your flashlight. You turn it on, and cover your eyes to not be blinded. When you carefully remove your hand from your eyes, you still end up blinded. Something's reflecting the powerful light, and after blinking for a while you can see what.
It's a giant hunk of treasure. Golden coins, jewelry, all manner of riches. A throne rests in the middle of the hoard, and a crown rests upon that. It's a beautiful piece of work, beckoning you to wear it. You deserve a little break, and a little splurging never hurt anybody. The pillow on the throne looks so comfortable, and a bowl of delicious fruit lies on its armrest. you haven't eaten honest to god non-scavenged food for so long...

You sit down on the throne. Almost instantly, all your muscles begin to relax and you settle in on the chair. You decide that, now that you're here, you might as well put on the crown, pretend you're getting what you justly deserve.
And why wouldn't you? You defended this city, you took the pain of losing without going insane, you lived on the damn streets for all your life! It's about time you get something BACK, isn't it? You set your crown forward a bit so you can slouch comfortably. It's weight feels good on your head, and you know you look as great as you're feeling. You can see them before you, Meridinia crawling to you, the casino boss' head on a pike next to you. Thousands of citizens celebrating your victory...

Look at them cheer. They love you, as you love your people. You will be a hard, but just king. The Clockwork King of Balalaika... wizards and techs, working hand in hand to push the world into a new age, rather than putting them apart out of fear. It's will be the golden age of Amerika.
Triumphant, you reach over to take a bite of the delicious fruit. A good king deserves a good meal, does he not? You touch the apple, but almost instantly you feel a painful jolt. It travels up your arm as you scream in agony, your bones crunching and tearing apart your flesh. It travels through you, ribs bursting out of your chest as your legs contort into horrific shapes. Your mind is filled with nothing but agony.
After a few seconds, each lasting an eternity, you explode, your empire crumbling in seconds as the darkness surrounds you.

Try pressing Q immediately after respawning. Then ignore the throne, and move away or past it ASAP.

Your vision flashes back, slowly giving you sight over the situation again. You feel horrible, like your bones are torturing your flesh. You look around in a panic ,dazed as your vision gets less and less blurry.  You're still in the treasure room, and your flashlight is laying on the ground, illuminating the place.
The throne is gone, and in its place there is a the giant man in a trenchcoat from before,  and pieces of throne. His trenchcoat is covered in holes, burned in from the looks of it. Mainly his sleeves, so you can see glimpse of what lies behind it. It looks like metal armor or some sort, guessing from the glints of light.
Are you awake? Good.

He turns to you, and as he steps closer to you, you notice two things. One, his hat is gone. Two, he's wearing some sort of gas-mask with glowing green eyes. You still can't see even an inch of flesh on this behemoth of a man. his presence seems to take up the whole room, and once again you feel intimidated.
Refrain from sitting on clearly trapped thrones in the future. I had to fight through an entire kingdom of your delusions. Though I suspect they lie closer to your crown then your mind. Still, a bit of wish fulfillment was evident. I kept seeing the same woman as your guard. Now, pick yourself up. We are taking this menace down together, then we will leave for a new destination.
Alright, before we go anywhere, I want to know who you are.
Somebody tasked with protecting the people, and getting you somewhere. Now move. There is a door at the end of hall. Don't touch the gold pieces, they burn. You threw quite a bit at me. Co-incidentally, you owe the government a Magi-tec Aid Kit.I de-concaved your chest.

....alright. Let's just... get a move-on. Mister "Classified".
Fine. Get to the door.
You move to the "door" at the end of the room. It's more of a giant stone slab. You push with all your might, but the stupid thing won't budge. You need a clever approach for this... Ah!
You pick up a coin, which seems oddly warm, and hold it against the slab. The door starts melting like wax.
Slooooowwwlllyyyyyy. You sigh as you realise you're going to be here for a while. You drop the coin after a few moments, after which it burns a hole through your sleeve. You curse and bend down to pick the coin up, but Classified just pushes you aside as gently as a 9 foot tall man is capable of. He rears up his arm, and throws a massive metal fist forward. For a fleeting second, you see his entire arm is covered in metal and his fist has a large metal plate at the knuckles. Steam is erupting from some tubes as that plate goes in motion.

The slab explodes inward to this staggering show of force. You stand there, stunned, for a few seconds. Then you just point your flashlight in there.
Another large arena, looks like. This one is much smaller and square-shaped then the last one. The walls are covered in sharp bits of all kinds: nails, razors, hooks...
the ceiling is covered in hooks as well, and quite a few decomposing bodies hang upon them.
In the middle of the room, a corpulent figure is chopping meat apart. He suddenly looks up, and sees the both of you. He gives out a hearty burp and starts laughing. He's covered in stitches and rotting flesh. Like a twisted mockery of Frankenstein.
Ahh, fresh meat!
He throws his table over, and throws a butcher's hook before you can even blink!
