Carran considers being snarky, but then reconsiders because antagonising the probably-instructor is stupid.
"Aye, we were."

"Well I'm sorry for that.  Please get on the ship, we'll see to your medical care immediately.  You appear to be suffering from frost bite." Though glad to see you both back safe and sound, she does seem a little distracted by the giant orb of darkness.

Jet turns to the two students.

"Ggh....fine."
She heads up. Nia looks concernedly at the two professors before running after her cousin.

"Erm, sure... Can ya, like, make sure the... Knights? Knights don't hurt Saph? Only, the ones in the cave were a little kill-happy..."

Maeve seethes.
"Ggh....fine."
She heads up. Nia looks concernedly at the two professors before running after her cousin.

  The explosion seems to have knocked them forward quite a ways and the entrance is surprisingly close, even if they do have to walk in the dark the entire way.  The light is blinding as they reach the surface.

"Erm, sure... Can ya, like, make sure the... Knights? Knights don't hurt Saph? Only, the ones in the cave were a little kill-happy..."

"What?  Knights, quarantine this girl!" two rush over and grab Saph by the arms
"C-Carran?"

Carran looks shocked for a second, before growling.
"I just told you not to do that."

"Please remain calm, we aren't going to kill her, just put her somewhere safe till we know what to do with her.  If they detected her as a Grimm, her neural signature isn't human anymore." she motions to the machines who begin to drag her away.

"Carran... please."

"She can talk! She still knows we're her friends! That's a hell of a lot more than the others who turn Grimm get! I've seen it before, I know what happens to people!"

Saph looks hopeful at the outburst, but Professor Mesh remains impassive, "I've seen Grimm trapped, bound, and declared harmless that have gone on to kill almost an entire hunting party in their sleep.  Why do you think that the Knight had the kill order?"

"...for once in my life, I'm gonna try this whole reasonin' thing. If she wanted ta kill me, she would've already done so, lady. I have her so many opportunities, times when I let my guard down, accidentally or otherwise, that it's not even funny. And yet, look! I'm still here."

"Listen, professor... I'm new here, so I know you don't know me all that well, but trust me when I say that if you try to harm this girl in any way, I will not make it easy for you, and every student that came with us today will back me up. So unless you want your expensive little robots smashed up by people who have proven themselves capable of doing so, I suggest you let her go. Right now."

Maeve tries to locate a professor, with Nia trailing behind her.

Katarina reaffirms her partners words by drawing her blades, watching the bots carefully as she got ready to attack if needed. Professor or no, anything to stop what was essentially an execution was better than watching it happen with mute acceptance.
