Maeve continues attempting to incinerate the shadow with her fire glyph, all while cackling maniacally and ecstatically.
(15+10) She gets a little too into it and the glyph doesn't form properly, flame still forms but it is mostly smoke that results, but the orb seems largely unchanged
Braith lets his beasts ravage the shadows.
64 A number of white Grimm form, scratching and clawing at the orbs dealing moderate damage
Amber decides to try something a bit more violent, considering she can't use Dust very well.
Running towards one of the spheres, she kicks off it into the air, Hakimdos trailing behind her. Firing it several times to let the recoil speed up her ascent, once she reaches a suitable height she reloads quickly, turns around, and begins firing upwards as she falls, until she's almost going as fast as the bullets. This accomplished, she empties the rest of her clip to finish off and retracts her weapon into sword mode, putting it point first and bracing for the impact of slamming into the sphere at over terminal velocity backed by nearly 20 pounds of very sharp metal.
(94+10 for awesome) The orb has hardened, but that doesn't stop you. Your blade shatters the orb, barely bypassing the student trapped within and releasing an odd multicolored fluid that appeared to be pooling around his legs. He gives you barely audible thanks, and scampers off as you look away. It may have been a trick of the light, but his running seemed unnatural.
RIP AND TEAR! BURN, DESTROY, OBLITERATE THE ORB!(45 +10) Your burning claws tear deeper and deeper into the orb and you manage to free the girl.
(45 +10) Your burning claws tear deeper and deeper into the orb and you manage to grab the girl.
Chryssa fires into the orb!
(92) Using some advanced techniques you've learned over the course of the half semester, you fire a multitude of shots into the orb from about 10 slightly different angles, most don't really damage the shell which seems to toughen itself in response to physical trauma, but those that do, cut deep into the inky blackness. You think you can see cracks forming.
Ceil attempts to chop into the orb, pushing it harder using her semblance.
(2) The smoke from Maeve's fire leaves you coughing and wheezing and your grip is imperfect as you swing at the orb, you somehow manage to disarm yourself as your weapon bounces off the orb and into the snow.
Try as her semblance might, Falu can do nothing as the light reaches past her shoulders, her body apparently paralyzed by the light. And now as the light reaches the base of her neck she can finally almost understand the whispers, "You'll be a wonderful ... won't you?" repeated over and over again, but that one word keeps escaping her hearing. It sounds almost as though it is a hundred words at once. She could either try to ignore it or focus on it. She feels herself rock a little bit, either from her own struggling or from some outside force. Something about the darkness just changed.
(75) All of the non-solid orbs have been breached, and a few of the hardened ones are now shattered.
