The door remains closed and locked.  There isn't much view of the room from the door window, and she has gone around a corner.

The elevator isn't working, so he has to climb all the way up using the steps, either that or actually fly.  In either case, he sees the mechanics instructor frantically working on repairing the main monitor, it usually displays news or sports, but for now is only static.

Those who escaped are either hiding really well or don't exist yet, as the big group immediately followed Professor Fae's orders.

"What? Oh, Mr. Weldenshier, there might be a working monitor around here for you to call him on, he might be able to provide more information faster than I can. I'm working to get this whole tower working so that we can see what is happening."

There is, in fact, one monitor still working.

Ian goes to relax for a little bit.

Braith opens up the monitor and calls his father.

You use the family's private line for emergencies.  As soon as you hit call though, your screen as well as the various moderately intact monitors and the big one up front all come online at the same time, they are filled with news feeds from across Atlas and the outlying villages, all of them experiencing similar attacks to the ones that the school just experienced.  Huntsmen, the police and the military are being pressed by the strange shadow creatures that some have begun to call Vestige Grimm, though they lack the masks, their victims do not. 
Those fully consumed are turned into mindless beasts, as seen as one multicolored Ursa with dog ears prepares to tear a woman in half before the screen changes.

The mechanics teacher jumps up, slams the intercom button and yells, "All instructors to the Comm Tower!"  He turns to you, "Thank you Mr. Weldenshier, and thank your father the next time you see him."
