"...yeah. I was figuring we shouldn't run into the mass of the battle and perhaps instead should take them from the flanks.

"Well, let's see...if I skirmish...yeah, let's go with that."

Amber still isn't sure what team she's on (>:() but she joins the fray anyway, launching herself to begin the rapid sweeping motions and swinging turns that characterize her fighting style, slashing across swathes of enemy combatants whenever she crosses them. The damage this deals might not be the greatest, on the other hand. Her semblance isn't totally reliable, but it's been keeping her from dying to things she wouldn't have noticed otherwise. Mostly.

Ian charges into the fray after stuffing his potato in his mouth.
(51) The battle rages around you as you cuts through as many shadows as you can, your claws cutting through many, but the damage seems superflous at best.
"Come on, then. I'll be right beside you. Just yell at me if you need help."
Chryssa charges forward, propelling with a shot, going for a stab on a random shadow, making sure to stay close to Falu.
(59) You manage to cut through one shadow after another, dealing minor damage
Falu puts the Beret in her bag and draws out her Tiro Longinus and puts it into Sniper form.

Falu shoots at a random Shadow with her Tiro Longinus while using her Semblance to increase the Magnitude of the Bullet (AKA increase the damage!)
(1!) You feel brave, you know that you can do this, it is what you have been training for... but then why are your hands shaking so much? Even as you attempt to aim, you can't manage to pull the trigger, they're too human too much like the people you swore to protect.  Your hesitation gets the better of you as a shadow closes the distance and suddenly collapses as, in your fear, you actually pulled the trigger.  Unlike the other shadows though, this one doesn't disappear into nothingness as it dies, instead, the shadow takes an amorphous form and surrounds you. To anyone outside, it looks as though you have been encased in a bubble of darkness.
Maeve immediately draws up several glyphs of lightning, creating a wall of lightning bolts firing at the shadows, while preparing to rip any shadows that got near her allies with dark, sharp claws emerging from the back of Shadow Weave.
(88) The lightning arcs into the shadows, disarming or destroying many.
"...yeah. I was figuring we shouldn't run into the mass of the battle and perhaps instead should take them from the flanks.
(22)  It seems that the shadows are prepared for this tactic and flow almost effortlessly into defense against your flank.

Mostly.
(32) None of them manage to touch you but you can't seem to do any damage to them.

The battle seems to be stagnant at the moment, although Maeve's lightning attack seems to have shifted the battle more in the groups' favor.  However, a number of students have been consumed by what appear to be steadily swelling orbs of darkness.

"Falu!"
Chryssa sends herself flying backwards with a shot, spiraling towards the bubble that surrounds her new friend.

Damnit! Amber thought, as she shifted her tactics to trying to split apart or shred the bubbles, leaving the mass of enemies to the Dust-wielder. She wasn't so good with Dust, after all.

 "an attack... better help out."
Braith summons a Forevermore and rides it into the gym, firing a blast of red dust from Trinity at the first enemy he sees.

Meanwhile, Maeve glares at the bubble Falu is in. She begins giggling evilly as the back of her clothes begin to bubble and limbs begin to emerge from them.
"Heeheeheehee...."

Claws emerge from the back of Shadow Weave, reaching forwards at the bubble in an attempt to rip it open.

Falu gasps when the shadow begins to cover her. Why did she hesitate? Why hadn't she moved. Fear began to take over as she became fully engulfed by the shadow. Escape. She needed to escape, but how? If only Chryssa was here to help her. To save her.

Falu screams, cries, and struggles.

Ceil hurries over to help cover Chryssa, opening fire at the shadows.
(50) You're barely fending them off as she moves, though you are taking a few down.
Ian continues fighting trying to get up over the crowd by vaulting off a shadow.
(11) your foot sinks into the shadow, and it attempts to bubble around you, but a quick snapping movement barely keeps it from consuming you.
Damnit! Amber thought, as she shifted her tactics to trying to split apart or shred the bubbles, leaving the mass of enemies to the Dust-wielder. She wasn't so good with Dust, after all.
Your weapon hits the bubble and springs back as though you just struck a piece of rubber with a blunt object.
"an attack... better help out."
Braith summons a Forevermore and rides it into the gym, firing a blast of red dust from Trinity at the first enemy he sees.
(98) The enemies in the courtyard are surprisingly easy to put down from your range and you manage to take out a huge number who were clustering around Professor Mesh with one explosive shot.

The claws can gain no purchase on the solid orb and are repelled when they attempt to stab.
Grunting, Chartre does his best to defend his flank while following Ceil.
(42) They seem to be pressuring this area intently and you have to keep falling back
Falu gasps when the shadow begins to cover her. Why did she hesitate? Why hadn't she moved. Fear began to take over as she became fully engulfed by the shadow. Escape. She needed to escape, but how? If only Chryssa was here to help her. To save her.

Falu screams, cries, and struggles.
You can see nothing but the oppressive darkness of the orb, even your own hands are invisible to you.  You can feel the entirety of your body however, and you can feel the orb consuming your aura as you struggle to escape.  It almost feels as though it is encasing you at times, as though it trying to making a mold, but it is always imperfect.  It is always at the wrong scale, its imitation of your fox ears, for instance are either too large or uncomfortably tight.  You can also almost hear a sound other than your screaming.

(72) The other students and Faculty seem to be having a better time, the larger force that Professor Fae is keeping away seems to be decaying away and the shadows that made it past her are being cut down en masse.  However there are still an impressive number remaining and more bubbles have formed around students.

Falu begins to struggle harder and screaming louder. Subconsciously, her Semblance begins it's standard form of defense, trying to change the direction of the darkness, attempting to propel it away.

In that case...
Maeve spawns a glyph, attempting to burn the shadow away, giggling maniacally.

Ceil continues to try and push the shadows back, using a magazine of Ice Dust now to help control the crowd.
"Damnit, leave my friends alone, you hear me?"
