Unkillable Titan?
« on: October 01, 2014, 02:08:04 am »

So I was attacked by a flying web spewing Titan.  "Ok" I think, "this will be fun".

After it gets into the fortress through a hole in the roof, it wanders around killing everyone.  After a while, it's "Wound" display looks like this:

upper body: Inhibited
lower body: Broken
neck: Broken
head: Broken
right upper leg: Broken
left upper leg: Broken
right lower leg: Broken
left lower leg: Broken
right foot: Gone
left foot: Broken
right Wing: broken
left wing: Broken
left tail: None
right tail: None
first toe, left foot: Broken
second toe, left foot: Broken
third toe, left foot: Broken
beak: Broken
guts: Function Loss
upper spine: Broken
Skull: Broken

Are these things unkillable, or is it just bugged?  My two surviving dwarves would like to know before they go insane.

It's probably stone or metal. Then, short of decapitation, there's no way to kill it normally.

I think it's wood.  Still, the state it's in, you would think decapitation would involve nothing more than a light breeze

It seems normal for inorganic titans. But eventually they die.

Cool, but wouldn't this likely lead to tongues having a '[SPEACH]' tag, and thus via necromancy we would have nearly unkillable reanimated tongues following necromancers spamming 'it is sad but not unexpected'?

I think it's wood.
What is the exact description of the titan?

P.S. If you don't get this note, let me know and I'll write you another.
It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.

I'm guessing wood opal or possibly petrified wood, which is actually rock.

Break out the cave-in trap.  Anything else is going to be less effective.  8)
