Katoya starts tugging the soldier away.

"We can rest in the afterlife! Right now there's work to do!"

Action: Lets go find those Wizards!

"Bad times don't wait for good weather, it's said...

Anyway. We've got a little time before the siege. Shall we go see if we can scrounge up some more help? I was thinking it might help if we could get some of the wizards in town on our side-I might be able to convince the Elves to aid us. You could watch my back, and I could do the talking."

"Hm. Wizards? Elves? I am both. Can I help?"

Follow Kat and Kyle Johnson with the axe hand. Take in the sights along the way.

Kyle sighs and let's himself be tugged along by the bard.

"Don't look so despondent! Lots of people would envy your position-being tugged to a unknown destination by a pretty girl, in the middle of a magical city under siege, about to be swarmed by unending hordes of bloodhungry demonic forces.

Some people, anyway."

Kyle blinks before shrugging.
"Yeah, now that I think about it, you are correct."

"Always look on the bright side, right?

We may die, but at least we've lived. Well, I have."

She cocks an eyebrow at him.

"Are you all full up of living yet, Sir Kyle Johnson? Any regrets?"

Kyle's face scrunches up as he thinks.
"Well, I've never had a wife for more than a week, I've never raised a child, I haven't repaid my debt of honor, and never gotten to go for a walk through the wild wood. And don't call me sir, I'm a soldier, not one of those uppity knights."

"Well, you should totally try not to die, then.

I've loved well and lost it all, song a pretty song so a Dragon wouldn't flame me, have a child whose better off knowing I don't exist, saw the future and ran away from it, made the Elven Queen laugh, hoisted a banner on a blood soaked field with a broken arm, stabbed an evil man with a knife I carved from the bone of a deer I killed, and eaten a Giants pie from the inside out, so he wouldn't eat me.

But, I've never been to the Wild Wood, either. I suppose that's enough reason for me to keep going, right?"

Kyle nods.
"And I've lived through being left for dead on some damn plane and wasn't brought done by it. Although I also got knocked out by some elf chick in the woods for having an axe. Like I had a fucking choice."
Kyle gestures to his mechanical arm.

"Well, she let you live. That's certainly an Elven sense of humor. Knock a man senseless for bearing an axe into a forest unintentionally, but leave him unharmed. Well, assuming she didn't play any tricks on you...

Me? I've seen enough of trees and, in truth, Elves. I want castle walls and moats, merlons and crenellations, banners and flagpoles. Give me a high tower, and a strong breeze any day, and I'll be happy. Must be all those years in the Empire I guess. All my sap has turned to stone and mortar, alas.

That is an odd hand. Can you take it off? I suppose it's good for cutting vegetables and scratching those hard to reach places? I suppose you can kill a man with a single chop?

I mean the hand with the axe."
She said, straight face.

"I suppose I'm just the opposite. Maybe it's the looks of horror that made me bitter. Least elves don't pretend that I'm normal. Also the fact I think they look interesting. Anyways, the axe bit has a bolt that I pull and fake hand come out. Much prefer it although I never sleep without the axe out. Force of habit."
Kyle demonstrates by doing so. The axe still pokes out but at least it's hidden kind of.

"Interesting.

Who made it for you? Not that I'm doubting your mechanical skills, but unless you decided to build this before..hand...you'd need two hands to do so.

...Don't worry, I'm a Bard, but I'm not insensitive. I won't make jokes about your missing hand. Too easy! Rather make a jape of your nose, it's crocked as a weather-vane! See? I'm a model of sensitivity."
She smiles again, as she does often.

Kyle gives her a deadpan look before speaking.
"A dwarven inventor by the name of Fredigar made it for me in return for a favor. A pretty fair trade."
