"Okay... Whoever's coming along, um, please. Follow me." The Kobold says, turning to the North and taking a few paces before looking back, her red eyes glowing in the dark.

Chaiket bounced agilely to her feet.
"Lead on, little kobold." She grinned at it.

Follow the kobold, keeping an eye out for other kobolds as we go along the route and remembering the way there.

Layla meekly brings up the rear. As she walks, she calls for her Raven familiar, Rook, who takes roost on her shoulder.

No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

"I forgot," the Kobold turns around suddenly. "Humans don't see well at at night." She reaches into her small pack and produces an unlit torch and a tindertwig, lighting it quickly before offering it up to arsolf. "To help see. My name is Nik-Nak." she says, before taking the lead again.

You follow her for an hour or two in the dark, her red eyes glancing back at you occasionally. You're only able to follow her by sound, as she walks just outside of torchlight, though Drenza can see her just fine. Soon, though she stops, and motions for you to do the same. She's looking to the left.

She points in that direction. "Listen, look. Something's coming." You all look in the direction Nik-Nak points.

Arsolf and Layla see nothing but darkness, but Layla hears the sounds of twigs snapping and underbrush getting moved, alerting her to the presence of something.

Chaiket and Drenza can see what's moving towards the group plain as day; A small thing comprised of twigs and leaves, held together in a roughly humanoid shape, with two other even smaller versions, appearing as crude dolls made of leaves, walking on twigs, on either side of their larger companion. They are 60 feet out.

Everyone glances back to where Nik-Nak was, but she appears to have disappeared.

COMBAT INITIATE

Drenza, Layla and Chaiket get to act this round. Layla does not know the location of the animated objects yet.

Code: (INITIATIVE) [Select]
Animated Object 1
[20 + 1] 21

Chaiket
[8 + 7] 15

Nik-Nak
[11 + 3] 14

Drenza
[12] 12

Animated Object 2,3
[4 + 2] 6

The small animated object, ahead of its other friends, moves up to Arsolf and swings a limb at the man holding a torch, but the twigs and leaves brush against his armor, off-balance from the move just made.

Spoiler: combat map (click to show/hide)

Chaiket's turn.

Chaiket deftly pulls an axe off her belt, hurling it at the small twig-man, the axeblade spinning through the creature and severing many of the twigs inside.

From out of the darkness, a large bolt comes whizzing out of the darkness, aimed at the construct next to Arsolf. It connects, hard. It tears through the thing, putting another large hole through the twigs, the bolt remaining intact.

Code: (Initiative) [Select]
Animated Object 1 -10 hp
[20 + 1] 21

Chaiket
[8 + 7] 15

Nik-Nak
[11 + 3] 14

Drenza
[12] 12

Animated Object 2,3
[4 + 2] 6

Spoiler: combat map (click to show/hide)

Drenza, you're up.

Drenza levels her crossbow, aiming at one of the two tiny twig dolls, but the darts buries itself into the ground just in front of it, the bolt splintering upon impact.

The two tiny twig dolls move forward, stepping up next to Chaiket and Arsolf, moving it to attack their legs.

Chaiket and Arsolf get attacks of opportunity

As they move near their targets, they stumble into the attack range of each.

Arsolf swings his blade, the bastard sword making easy contact. The construct collapses under the simple weight of the blade.

Animated Object 2 is dead.

Chaiket, able to see the small leaf-thing hopping towards her, takes a swipe at it with an axe she had prepared. The agile object is able to side-step the blade and move into position to attack.

The animated object takes a swipe at Chaiket's legs, but the twigs are ineffectual against her tough hide.

Arsolf rolls into initiative.

Code: (Initiative) [Select]
Arsolf
[17 + 5] 23

Animated Object 1 -10 hp
[20 + 1] 21

Chaiket
[8 + 7] 15

Nik-Nak
[11 + 3] 14

Drenza
[12] 12

Animated Object 3
[4 + 2] 6

Spoiler: Combat Map (click to show/hide)

Arsolf, go.

"That tickles! Stop it!" Chaiket giggled. It seems she wasn't taking this battle very seriously.
