After Layla dispells the grease, Drenza walks over to place her hands on the Kobold. Placing her hands on the small Kobold's shoulders and whispering seems to relax it considerably, keeping the Kobold from looking at Chaiket's face.

Arsolf, taking this time to check on the Kobold, finds that, firstly, the Kobold is female. Secondly, this Kobold does seem thin, her already thin frame even thinner from lack of proper sustenance.

The Kobold, standing quite still, looks up at Drenza, her eyes searching the Drow's. "You're not... Not going to hurt us are you?" she says, almost pleading with you.

"Poor thing's starved..." Arsolf says as he thinks for a moment before giving the Kobold one of his trail rations.

Give Kobold a trail ration.

Drenza looks at and speaks to the kobold firmly but kindly, perhaps as one might do with a dog.

"I won't hurt you. But you've been hurting us. We need the food you've been taking."

Arsolf takes a moment to ponder what's happening and says aloud "I don't suppose you could translate what you're saying? I don't speak draconic."

The kobold blinks at Arsolf's offer before taking it thankfully, putting it into one of many pouches on her belt.

"A, y-yes... Sorry." She says in Common, bowing her head while still facing Drenza.

"I-I'm sorry... About the food. We've been low on food for as long as we've been here." She apologizes to no-one in particular, "We had to find some way to feed everyone."

"Perhaps... Perhaps we could find a way to merge our two groups in order to find some way to feed everyone. How large is your group? How had you been feeding yourself before hand?"

No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

"We do have some... Some hunters and warriors but it isn't my call... And I don't know if our leader would like me bringing back... Others..." The Kobold suddenly tries a more stern face but her sheepishness still continues to shine through.

Without looking up, Chaiket spoke. "How many are you?"

"We are..." The Kobold takes the time to count on her fingers rapidly, "We are three and fourty, many mouths must be fed that cannot fend for themselves."

"What cause the food shortage? Surely you were able to feed yourself at some point."

The Kobold hesitates on the question, shuffling her feet. "I... I think it best that I talk to my clan leader before I say anything more."

She pauses again. "If..." She does her best to sounds stronger in this moment of weakness, "If you promise not to hurt anyone, I... I think I can take you with me. Close to the cave. But I can't bring you in. Not without his permission."

Slumped against the pots, Chaiket nodded, satisfied.

"We...don't want to hurt anyone, we just want the food thefts to stop. We promise no harm will come to anyone as long as no harm comes to us."

"Please. Let us help you. There has to be a compromise. Please bring a message to your leader that we want to work out a compromise. I think it might be best if you bring that message to them as soon as possible. We, or at least I, will go with you."

Go with the Kobold to the cave if she takes us. If not, just let her go.
