Hide somewhere in that general vicinity.

Arsolf hunkers down next to Chaiket to hide, but only manages to conceal his lower half behind the pots, his head fairly visible.

Meanwhile, outside the shed and across the path about twenty feet away, Drenza manages to tuck himself away right next to the building with full view of the door of the shed.

The sun sets soon after everyone gets into position, and the guards have been alerted to stay away.

Even with the half-moon dimly lighting the area, Drenza is able to see just fine. She must have been simply looking the wrong direction when he hears the gasp. When she turns her attention to the shed, she sees a Kobold with the door open.

Inside the shed, the Kobold's sharp gasp snaps everybody to attention. From her hiding place, Chaiket can see she's not been seen; The Kobold's eyes are darting between Arsolf and Layla, frozen but looking ready to bolt.

Surprise round, fellows. You each get one action.

((This is the situation where grease shines. Hey, guess what I made sure to prepare!)) Layla immediately casts grease where the kobold is standing, making sure the spell also affect the area behind the creature to hinder escape

No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

"Hold still or be mangled!" she shouted happily in Draconic towards the kobold, poking her head out her hiding place.

Intimidate it into standing still.

Layla casts grease behind the Kobold, but the scaled creature manages to stay on its feet. It turns to run, but meets Drenza's stare.

Drenza takes this second to try her chance at charming the Kobold, and manages to succeed just fine, the Kobold's eyes looks much less scared.

During this time, Arsolf comes up from behind, but must have caught a patch of grease himself, as he doesn't manage to grab the Kobold.

However, seeing her chance, Chaiket takes this moment to leap out and shout in a playful voice to halt or get mauled. The kobold jumps in fright, freezing in place, her eyes begging her new friend Drenza for help.

The kobold is yours. What do you do now?

Drenza kneels down next to the kobold and puts her hands on its shoulders. She calmly and comfortingly speaks to it in Draconic.

"There, there. It's alright."

Calm down the kobold.

((I like to think Arsolf had a hilarious pratfall slipping on the grease trying to grab the kobold :P))

If it hasn't evaporated already, Layla dismisses the grease, then hangs back and let the others try to talk to the Kobold.(Note Layla knows draconic, so if necessary she can translate. She just doesn't want to.)

Picking himself up from the floor Arsolf mumbles to himsef "I'm getting too old for this shit..." once he is up to his full height he looks at the Kobold to see if he has any signs of malnourishment.

Check Kobold for injuries, signs of malnourishment or any other such thing. Basically, how is the kobold in health?

Chaiket playful leered at the kobold, pulling a hideous face, before she looked away, giggling.

Drenza looks scornfully at Chaiket.

"Stop it. You're frightening him."

"Ok, ok." She pulled out her book and sat down again, quickly becoming lost in the ancient words once more.
