"Why do we need isolation shields? Shouldn't you guys have had a method of isolating yourselves from experiments for a while now?"

"It isolates the experiments from external factors, not the other way around."

"... So why don't you have this already?"

After she made the suggestion Lethe exited the research lab, she stretched as she tried to relieve the soreness of driving one of the mechs. For a moment she hesitated, eventually though she shook her head and headed towards the canteen. She slumped down in the chair next to Luzia
"That was some fight"

"It was, wasn't it? I'm surprised that it was over so quickly. I thought that it'd be much more grueling..."

"It's... A long story"

"Well I'm hear to listen if you want to tell it," she says, giving him a kind smile.

Sarah facepalms.

"I don't think you understand how complex isolation shielding really is; you have to shield experiments from dozens of factors."

"... And we only just got the technology to do that? Some how I doubt that the few extra factors to keep out are worth neutering ourselves to more advanced weapons."

[Kansa]

Lethe nodded,
"I didn't really know what to expect, it was the first time I've ever seen one of those things"

"The few hundred extra factors, you mean? It'll allow us to obtain far more information from any samples you bring back from the battlefield, and it'll allow us to do experiments we'd otherwise have to do in a space dimension. Think about the long term."

[USEC_OFFICER]

"Me too. I've only seen them before in photos and new reports. And the aftermath of what they do. Seeing one of them up close like that was very scary, even if we won so quickly."

"I am. And you guys aren't getting samples if we die so I think us not dying is a bit more important."
Kyle says annoyed.

[smurfingtonthethird]

"Your teammates say otherwise. It's not my decision, anyhow, so take it up with them."

Sarah huffs, and walks back into the labs.

[Kansa]

Lethe nodded again,
"I know what you mean, they are quite frightening. The acid caught me by surprise, I didn't know they could do stuff like that"

Kyle rolls his eyes and goes to the barracks.

Luzia smiles sadly, "I did. And many other things too. I'm more surprised  that our robots held up so well against its attacks."

[Sanure]

Maria walks into the lab, supposedly having got Bones from the dead Kaiju, "I brought you some more research material, Sarah." Maria hands her a datapad showing her mech with the bones.

[Kansa]

Lethe sighed,
"I know, I was worried after we got hit." then she smiled slightly "That was quite an impressive yell though at the end, I even found myself joining in"
