The high elf official looks at a scroll covered with the names of people that live and work in the new snow elf settlement, he writes a check. "There you are, you're on a special duty. We need you help off loading enchantment stones and mistic salts"

Magnascal- you start on the return trip from a raid on a highelf caravan with your new equipment (your flail and shield) you are in a group of orcs on a road headed back to the raider camps

Get to work.  Keep an eye out for any enchantment stones or mistic salts of great value.

"Hrmm, I'll take it."
Pay the shopkeeper for his services and take the staff back after he's done with it.

"But ah, do you happen to know any of the local gossip? I like to keep up to date on current events."

He takes the staff and grabs a light blue stone that fits in his palm, he slowly pushes it against the middle of the staff and the stone slowly fusses into the staff. A layer of thin icy looking film spreads all over the staff covering it.
He licks it up and hands it to you. It feels cold to the touch.

He looks at you," I don't much get into the gossip 'round here. But I hear the tavern is the place to get all the news about the town"

"Well, thanks for the enchantment."
Leave the store and look for the tavern that he mentioned.

You find a large stone brick building in the center of town with a large chimney coming out of the side of it
The entrance is a large oak door

Enter the tavern and look for any suspicious looking individuals.

You see a group of sketchy looking individuals smoking pipes and blowing smoke rings at people there are a lot of them but they only look mischievous and not too dangerous

Sit next to them.
"Hi, know any gossip?"

The sketchiest fellow looks at you
"Whatcha wanna know kid?"

"What's the state of the realm overall?"

"Well the war on the high elves ended a few years ago, Ragnar's tribe lands was set up as a haven for raiders and tribals so the rest of the River Empires could rest a little knowing most of the raiders moved and the snow elves and humans set up Empire trading posts along the river. So the Realm is in decent peace though I fear something I don't know what is glooming on the horizon."

"Kid?! Me?! A Kid?!"
Smash his face up with my quarterstaff.

You smack his face throwing him across the table onto the ground. His left cheek is frozen solid and he is knocked unconscious
