Still curious as to whether the change in animal companion rules for rangers also extends to the level they're obtained at, and not just the overall strength of said ACs.

No, it doesn't change the level. You still have to wait until 4.

Okay, finally got it set. Tibbit Beguiler. Might dip into Bard or Rogue at some point, but eh. Tricksy small thing is a go. Pending DM approval, of course. Kinda want to know if it's suitable before I up and start working on the sheet beyond some preliminary stuff.

Is this a play by post or maptools campaign, and if it's the latter, are there spots left?

I'll have a char sheet up before I go to sleep, i'm trying to go for a white-mage/cleric type.

This is as far as I got. Tar, if you could pm me and metaphorically guide my hips through calculating AP and all that jazz i'd appreciate it

If I may make a suggestion, if you're going to go straight Cleric Lessar Aasimar would be the best race to use. Sure you lose the feat and skill points, but you gain +2 wis and cha, +2 to spot and listen, and darkvision. It's my preferred choice for cleric.

As for calculating ability points, I take it you don't have the DMG. How it works is all stats start at 8, and you buy a point in a stat for a 1:! basis until you hit 14 in that stat. Over 14, you buy on a 1:2 basis until you hit 16 in a stat, and then a 1:3 basis until you get 18 in a stat. What this boils down to is you can get 14 in a stat for 6 points, 16 in a stat for 10 points, and 18 in a stat for 16 points.

A good stat array for your char would be 12 in str, dex, con and int, 15 in wis, and 12 in cha. Combined with the race suggestion I gave, that would equate to 12 in the phy stats(+int) 17 wis, and 14 cha.

No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

Eh. I was halfway through making a character, then looked at the crafting rule change and realised there was no point.

What's wrong with the rule change? Wait, is this one of those characters who makes everything for everyone else at a huge discount at the start of the game?

Also, I should probably PM the people who have yet to finish their sheets.
