attack/sensory range for animals?
« on: September 22, 2014, 10:48:40 am »

So what seems to be the range in which animals attack in the savage biomes?

Specifically an alligator.

I'm in a swamp, near a river and would like to trap it once I get setup, but I don't want to get my embark slaughtered.  As I purposely didn't choose a strong military embark.  I'm already 30 or so tiles away.  But if it swims down river it will get closer to the wagon.

Traditionally, on sight.  Im not sure what it is now that the new sneak mechanics and assessment of threat bit is in, but 'on-sight' is a fairly safe bet.

Do note that not all creatures begin in 'lethal', I had a wolf attack me for 'brawl' combat before, oddly enough.
