After walking for a minute in silence, Perrin muses, "How do they catch smugglers?"

Lidia smiles slightly, "They don't."

"What? Crime must be rampant here!"

"Crime is rampant everywhere. Gasrath is just unusual in that it's side a cave. Very few cities are as lucky as this one."

Sylla follow the peasant to the workshop or wherever they are going. He looks to be deep in thought.

After walking for a few minutes, you pass a pretty luxurious inn, you reach Wood street.
This is a narrow street, much more a shady lane than anything else.
The main difference with the main road you are on is the lack of public light. This means that the street is only illuminated by the neighbouring houses, when those are lit, and with the ambiant dim light of the city.

(( Lidia notes that this street could make a perfect example of rampant crime ))
(( little note about vision : the whole street is considered dim lit, except for the zones near lit houses. Red and Lyssa are the only ones without Darkvision (so they have disadvantage on perception and attack rolls). The others see normally (but in grey) for 60 feet ))

"These streets look unsavory. We should get inside, lest we be preyed upon by thieves."

Lidia looks around for the correct building, "Don't worry. Most petty thieves prefer to go after those who look like they can't fight back. Or chop off limbs in a single stroke. As long as we keep an eye on our purses we should be fine."

Harold keeps an eye on his purse.

"There was... a much... nicer inn that we walked past. And I take it that we are not... poor. Perhaps it would be more... desirable to stay in... higher-class accommodation, than to... wander... through dimly lit streets?"

Ivan worries hearing you saying this :
"But aren't you supposed to take us to Mary's uncle ?
I mean, if an old carpenter can live there, why wouldn't you be able to escort us ?"

"I will get you there, even if these fools who beated up a band of goblin decide to be afraid of a dark alley wont." Sylla leads the peasants toward the workshop.

"I'm not... afraid. It's the... principle of the matter... never mind."

Harold follows along sheepishly.

"I don't have enough money anyway to afford a stay at that inn anyway. Lead on."
