You should jump to less of a conclusion. Given current projections, non-Hispanic whites will still make up a solid majority both now and for the foreseeable future (there are a LOT of people in the US). Republicans are nervous because the states that will get the Hispanic increase are currently red. If they were blue, I guarantee you they would not care.
