what if the queens coming near each other made one queen lose a tag preventing/gain a tag allowing it to/from doing a self-targeted interaction that turned itself and a bunch of wasps near it crazed? (while also preventing it from crazing the other queen)

that causes the same problem: how do i do this?

strange that shouldn't happen. that should only happen when the [TARGET:SELF_ALLOWED] tag is active, are you sure the newly crazed (you really should make it opposed to life) queen doesn't just target the old queen as well.

You're going to have to make the crazyness syndrome also remove the tag [CAN_DO_INTERACTION:MAKE_QUEEN_CRAZY] from the other queen, and finally, it is not a good idea to make both queens with [CRAZED]. CRAZED animals of the same species team up against every other animal.

So you ended up achieving the exact opposite of the effect you wanted. You made them kill everything EXCEPT each other  :P

when a creature breathes a vapor, the creature inhales the vapor just fine. that's fine one the two queens spot one another, but i want the syndrome to activate specifically if two queens are near, not for every wasp around.

k, than,  I just did some testing, and it turns out that with interactions, you can transmit syndromes wirelessy and invisibly. What this means is that we don't need the queen to be breathing vapor.

well the first question: do we really need it not to activate on other wasps? If we designed the syndrome correctly then it would have no effect at all on non-queens, also give the queen the [CDI:FREE_ACTION]  token and it will not waste any time doing the interaction while simultaneously doing the interaction. So while the queen will constantly be using the interaction on friendly wasps it will only have a noticable effect if she use it on a queen.

Another thing we can do is make the queen excrete a random substance, say royal tribal paint, and give the queen [CDI:USAGE_HINT:CLEAN_FRIEND], this means that the queen will only activate the interaction if a creature is covered in contaminants, and the excreting tokens guarantees that queens will be covered in contaminants.

Ideally I like the first option more since it's less noticeable but I haven't heard your opinion yet.

i like the first option better too. so you propose that we make the queen activate the interaction on every one she sees, but the syndrome will have an effect only on a queen, right? good thinking. the only thing missing is a way to make sure that when the queen performs the interaction, she is not affected herself, only the other queen. i rejected shooting globs because it causes her to gain levels at archer and thrower exponentially. you said earlier that you can transmit syndromes wirelessly and invisibly without breathing vapor. how?

the problem with the second option is that making a creature permanently covered in contaminants will put a significant dent on the FPS.

Ironically I thought the first option would have a bigger impact on fps, ah well for the wireless syndromes, just don't put any transmission tokens such as [BLOOD],[CONTACT], you get it. And to prevent her from affecting herself, just don't give her the SELF_ALLOWED token that's it, it's that simple, creature to creature interactions are surprisingly easy to make.

to be honest, i always felt more at home modding reactions and workshops, not interactions. for example, just now i learned about the ADD_SYNDROME. you mean the interaction should be like that?

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

EDIT: ok, the first reaction was wrong. i think the second one works, however. thanks for the help, heydude

Unfortunately, you can not entirely mod in an interaction in the creature file. You need to put the interaction in a separate interaction file.

here I just made a functional version for you
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

now the creature tag
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

there, that should be a functional interaction

EDIT:woops was busy writing my interaction and i didn't notice your corrected version

again, thank you for your help. i noticed, however, that you didn't put a USAGE_HINT. will it work without one?

it will. it just will be constantly spamming it whenever cool down comes off, My problem with GREETING is that it randomly goes off if there is a friendly within line of sight. Of course the random-number-god may be fickle and it might not go off during that split-second when both queens see each other.

also you should remove [SYN_INHALED] and [SYN_CONTACT] and you don't need [CDI:MAX_TARGET_NUMBER:A:10].

and i just read that if we remove the TARGET, it won't even need line of sight. i wonder if we should put [IT_AFFECTED_CREATURE:HIVEMIND_WASP:QUEEN], however. it sounds like a huge FPS drag if the queen spams the interaction for each and every creature on the map
