anywaaay, back on topic: the dfhack reactions have been tested and work fine now. the only thing stopping me from releasing it, is that every time something opposed to life comes a loyalty cascade ensues. i thought the reason we picked opposed to life rather than crazed was to avoid loyalty cascades. why did this happened?

also, what other masterwork buildings should wasps have?

wait, how did you manage to test the opposed to life reactions? Alliances are fixed in the object testing arena and nothing can change them, not even tags. Are you sure you just forgot to make them on the same team and so they went independent by default? Also the arena can not be used to test the opposed to life tag.

You can fake being able to run on water. You can't fake looking cool when you break your foot on a door and hit your head on the floor.

How did you manage to spawn them in fort mode? When I tried the spawn HIVEMIND_WASP command I just got a random caste how do I make it so that it specifically spawns the queen?

i'm not talking about the queen, i'm talking about the other stuff that spawn with opposed to life, like accidentally summoned praetorians, or feral megabugs. and i managed to spawn a queen just fine by taking the reaction we've got, moving it to the test workshop and removing the reagent

speaking of queens, in all the testforts i've ran i have yet to find a naturally occuring queen... well Queen. they are always demons. which is awesome, but i suspect it has something to do with why hive civilizations have trouble surviving worldgen. and mightnot be so good when the demon in question has deadly dust and half your hive dies the moment she sets foot. i suggest we change the fluff a bit and removing the restriction.

anyway guys, think about it. one last thing i would like to point out is that it will also solve the problem with having a queen and the another one arriving.

raise the population ratio of the queen, I say 1 in 200 instead of 1 in 10000. Sure the queen will migrate to forts more often but we already have a way of dealing with that.

I just did the math and just change the queens population ratio to 50, raise the drone pop ratio as well (say 250). workers are still genderless so the only way for anything to be born in world-gen is if a queen and a drone are generated.

Also you can change entity tokens to prevent mega-beasts from taking over the civ. Don't remember what you need to do specifically

well, worth a try.

EDIT: ok, so waspen civilizations survive medium worldgens. however, all waspen civs i've seen are led either by megabeasts or by workers. i tried preventing it by rejecting the MEGABEAST class, which achieved nothing. still, i see a sustainable population of wasps (the overwhelming majority of which are of unknown parentage), and enough civilizations to play, so whatever. it's playable, but unless there is some specific and effective way to restrict megabeasts, at least 9 times out of 10 the Queen won't be a queen, just some crossdressing cyclops.

EDIT#2: one tweak after that, i genned a new world and something interesting happened: waspen civilizations were actually formed by queens! however, 2-5 years afterwards they always resigned to said crossdressing cyclopses posing as gods... it must have been a drooling scene, convincing a broodmother that you're a god and not just some freak with a bug addiction, but the outcome is the same

EDIT#3: ok, some tweaks after that and i finally have ruling queens. we can consider the matter closed. now there's the opposed to life problem and choosing fitting buildings for the civilization.

You have to change the entity file slightly to prevent mega-beasts from taking over the civ, I forgot what tag exactly needed to be changed but I read it somewhere

If you have a noble position that must use a specific caste, but none of that caste exists, the noble position will be filled with anyone. No way around that.

Well, at least most brood mothers are queens now. And all of them are female, so i fixed that too. Any ideas on how to prevent the opposed to life creatures from causing a loyalty cascade?

Is it possible to spawn the praetorians as wild animals? If so just spawn them as wild animals and give them trapavoid so wasps will have to fight them.

EDIT:Ok ignore what i said above, I'm no scripter. Is it okay if I have a copy of the files that you are working on right now maybe I might get some ideas if I look at them myself

EDIT2: Meph has managed to make it so that it is possible to spawn ghouls at a graveyard with a chance of them going feral, maybe we can look at how he managed to do that, at the current moment I can't find INORGANIC:SPAWN_GHOUL_HOSTILE_PROB so I can't figure out what was done.

EDIT3:Found the inorganic, now I need to find a the creature entry for GHOUL_HOSTILE. Unfortunately it's not in the warlock file, maybe I'm doing something wrong?

Its rather simple. Its two ghouls. One is the normal ghoul, the other a separate creature that has the CRAZED and OPPOSED_TO_LIFE tag. (for Warlocks I need both tags, for your race only opposed to life will do)
