Waspen buckler can be, then!

weird. you should be able to build it in the carpenter or in the forge, like any other shield. In fact, I tried it out and it worked...

wait, you updated? you can't change entity files in a save, game, that's why it's not in your game.
Yeah, I figured it even if I updated the raw folder... Starting a new world now.

:edit: btw, the manual mention the stinger colony... how to make it, since nowhere it says how to?
Also, do it have any uses aside from stinger thralls?

yes, it is used in the Grower. It's made in the Fleshwarper's Lab using 2 tallows, 8 meats and 2 paper cement blocks. the manual really could do with some hyperlinks, couldn't it?

also, I fixed the trading bugs for real this time and added a bunch of other stone and gem shapes

does anyone know how I can make it like the rest of the race manuals?

Yes, you download the current manual, copy one part and add change the text and pictures. Its only html that you need to read through.

I... am a noob as far as google sites go, so I don't even know how to download it. But hey, I learned to use the table of contents and headings, so we'll have easy navigation after all :)

ok, now the manual has links for easier navigation and info about the new buckler.

also, I fixed the "crafts to gems" bug. Once I add the clothing heydude suggested, I'll upload yet another version. Whoever had hives won't need to generate a new world for the trading and the crafts bug fixes, but the new clothes will require a new worldgen.

also, do we have any more suggestions about more clothes?

Anyway after looking through the manual again I found a bunch of errors that I would like to point out and hopefully get fixed.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Okay, those are all of the errors I managed to find while looking through the manual. Than, I understand that you aren't a native english speaker so I hope that this helps you.

EDIT: Also small suggestion for the defender name. Maybe we can call them waspen bracers? I don't think we should call them waspen bucklers since people will assume that they are just like vanilla bucklers

Lets use the ancient naval art of training war parrots. No one will realize they have been boarded by space war parrots until it is to late!
You can fake being able to run on water. You can't fake looking cool when you break your foot on a door and hit your head on the floor.

thanks, heydude. I'll get on with fixing them.

Pottery(Writing on the embark screen and in Therapist) is also important, since it improves the quality of the stuff you produce at the Wood Pulper. (What does pottery have to do with wood pulping?)

nothing. but I imagine cement working (still a typo, though, since I mentioned the wrong building) as being similar to pottery, so I gave them the (currently not used) pottery skill

Quote
In getting started you mentioned the miller as the labor required for paper cement even though miller is what is currently being used for archeology. Also in the buildings tab it mentions pressing as the cement making labour. Currently PROCESSPLANTS or (thresher, miller, presser) is the "milling" labour in masterwork. Also the vanilla pressing labour is invention and research

archeology uses the vanilla miller, while the masterwork miller is the thresher. I should clarify that better.

I still don't know what we should do with the pressing labor. Also, since we don't use certain labors, I suggest removing them altogether from the entity file. Pressing is a good example of that. Right now they only serve to make some migrants useless and make the embark screen confusing.

waspen bracers, why not? I want to run it a few more before I release it, though. I found and fixed several bugs already, and my hive has reached a point where I can finally try out the rest of our features. I want to make sure everything works as intended for the next release.

I made yet another test hive. I have already been attacked by the dwarves and the elves. I captured 6 elves (larva fodder or gladiators? that is the question) and had the chance to test the slings in the field: they caused fractures, never killed anyone but I was using literally the cheapest weapons in the race (maybe even in the masterwork mod, we're talking a piece of cloth and some boulders here!), so I wasn't expecting much. The elves almost starved me to death, though. Cockroaches are lifesavers. I spotted yet another bug with the grower and some more reactions that require souls (which I will remove to preserve potential players' sanity)

All in all, though, it's a fun run. I build a tavern, bedrooms and caught and tamed some monkeys! I also captured a nymph and I'm still considering what I should do with her. Maybe decoration, nymphs are far too rare and fanciful to be used as larva fodder. No game breaking bugs yet, which is good because it means there are not many of them left (if any). My plan is to test the lab reactions and build a Shrine and a Hive Caller to test these things too. Once I complete them and manage to successfully summon a Golden Centipede, I will write down my findings and release the next update with all the new bug fixes.

ok, I completed my test run. I managed to summon the centipede, which was as difficult as I expected, gave many features a test run and fought and smashed 3 human and elven sieges with my elite force of five legendary, mithril bearing sword and spearwasps. I fixed a lot of bugs I found (no doubt there are more, but the list is only getting smaller each time, and this time it got significantly smaller), made a few tweaks where I found it necessary and expanded the wasps' options on gem shapes and clothing.

I had some troubles and some pretty frustrating bugs here and there (mostly when a reaction required a wrong reagent or gave a wrong product), but all in all the race was quite playable and it's even better now with this new update:

heydude, I removed the Glazing and the Pressing skills, since wasps don't use these but still showed up as migrant skills. That means we'll only need sprites for them when we port the race to the new edition

How are you making militia, man? Since soldiers and workers, I find it pretty difficult to settle a stable militia in the whole game.
And until legendary, too?!? In just two days?
I have still things to learn...

I use Tweak military-training to make my training drills actually train, and I got lucky with the migrant waves and got 5 soldier castes by the second year.

Mmmh... it's safe/right to use? I always try to stay away from overpowered gamebreaking stuff... but militia really takes years to just get a +1 in skills...

Also, I would like to know if there could be a workaround from making wasps transform into a metal-stinger caste, fully healing those. That's because I really think of that skill as a heal-all ability, using just a metal bar in the process. It's simple too good, and after those first fights tend to overstress and disassembe my wasps, so using that one both strenght them and fully heal them.
