If he doesn't drop it step inside his reach, knock the gun aside and punch him in the throat to stun him while I take the gun.

the door slides open on the van behind the one you are standing infront of
three lightly armored guards like Jeff walk out, one armed with a shotgun, and the other two with Steyr AUG rifles
they line up near the riot gear guards and aim their weapons at you

shotgun guard: ¨Get on the ground now!¨

one of the guards pulls his trigger
your left leg kicks back and you fall to the ground
your ears are ringing from a loud gun shot
before you get back up or even try one of the guards is ontop of you
you are now in hand cuffs and in intense pain

(( Hence the step forward first. I only needed to be.close enough to hit the gun I can manage that in 1 step. But no matter now I can't do anything else until we reach sanctuary assuming I don't bleed to death or die of shock or infection first. ))

(ok lets restart at that point when you went to grab his gun then)

You take a step forward and grab for his gun, he moves it away but you manage to get the barrel of it
Jeff pulls out his pistol
the other guard has his rifle pointed at your head
you take the guard you are attacking off balance and tackle him to the ground, the gun is in your hands

the lightly armored guards begin to come out of the other van
